See article, "Vote on Big Ten in Legal Doubt"

The article is uninformed and incorrect. MD Taxpayers will not be paying a dime, the buyout is being funded by the big 10. The move does not have to be approved by the Board of Regents this was just a courtesy extended to those members and really would have had no bearing on the move. It was the correct move for the University of Maryland in the long term. Everyone will miss the Duke game but if thats the only reason you are a MD fan then good riddance.
Not sure what article you read, but I was not referring to that.
As per the "legal experts" cited in the article, they say that the secret meeting, and I quote, "may have violated the Maryland Open Meetings Act".
No idea about the legality of all this...just pointing to the article. Nothing to do with the buyout, or what's best for Maryland, etc.

Tom McMillen states his opposition to the Board of Regents's decision to join B1G:

For someone who claims to be a professor at a major national university, you seem to have less than a full grasp on the use of hyperbole.
In case you're not smart enough to decode that: I did not actually piss on my UMD stuff.
We've interacted on other Sun forums. Very pleasantly, as I recall. Didn't realize you'd get so stupid when it comes to college sports.
