Hoes' BA and OBP are both very good. it seems a shame that they can't find room for him.

should a contending team dedicate their DH position to a singles hitter?

that seems like a good debate. usually teams want power out of that role, but the pursuit of high OBP players made Billy Beane a houshold name.

It also got him zero championships.
Right now, defense and pitching have both reasserted themselves - although I would argue they never left.

I would send Hoes to a clinic, or give him some defensive boot camp.
Then, maybe he could be a utility guy.

true, but Boston went almost 100 years w/o a championship by pursuing sluggers who could dent the big green wall. as soon as they started using Beane's philosophy, they won 2 WS.

All the crazy trade ideas about trading Bundy, finally we get one that would be worth considering. A 24 yr old with a .950 OPS is the only kind of player you should be even thinking about trading a Bundy for. Bundy would have to be a true #1 for years to make it a fair trade for Fla

Morrison or Stanton severely banged Loria's daughter.

What's the greater punishment - to be traded to a real MLB team or to remain on the Marlins ?

Answer: I hope that Loria's daughter was worth it for Giancarlo... LOL

Stanton ain't, that's for damn sure.

Yet FFH is not stupid. And he's claimed that Morrison is on the block.

Jury's out on this one, I'd say.

I take no credit for any claims - I merely cited a MLBtraderumors article....
I have no inside info on that (or anything else), nor will I ever have any.

otoh - Stanton is one of the few players that any team should be willing to give away the house for. There are only 3 players with his potential short and long term impact - one is in the O's system and Trout and Harper are the others.

The Marlins already gave away the house. And yet, kept Stanton.

I'm not really sure what point you are trying to make.

Speculative trades aren't about what's already happened, they are about the future.
I'm not saying that the Marlins are going to trade either player.

This thread was only to discuss the fair or not fair, not whether or not it was going to happen.
