Harbaugh needs to find out - why?
Honestly - I have no idea. I am sure many at the Castle are wondering the same thing. Doesn't he have more authority to audible by now? I mean he is in year 5 now for God's sake. I thought the offense was opening up this year? Something happened to change things and we'll never know what that is. There are some here who will have you believe the entire thing is Cam's fault. Everything. Joe was not reading the field last night. He wasn't even attempting to. He looked downright ridiculous at some points - I have no explanation for the split personality. Nobody does.

I know - right? Seriously I wonder is he is taking Xanax or something on the road. Seriously. Maybe he has some type of anxiety disorder or something on the road? He does just seem "out of it" sometimes. You can't rule that out.

    2. Since Rice GOT his 25 touches, I posted the stats to show exactly how that worked out.
    3. Is that NOT a legitimate topic for a Ravens forum, regardless of whether it follows a win or a loss?
didn't say it wasn't a legitimate topic....the manic nature of some of the people just makes we wonder...

there is one person who I rarely agree with-- Mike Preston-- however what he wrote after last night is something everyone should read...

bottom line...this team does what it has to to win...it will be ugly, it will be frustrating at times, but there are only 2 teams with better records than the Ravens...neither looked particulary impressive yesterday....can you imagine what this board would be like had Flacco thrown 5 picks? the sun servers would melt down....at the end of the day, a win is a win...at 8-2 with 6 left to play, 11-12 wins is not out of the question....

there are no perfect teams in the NFL...that's why it is a week to week league...just like the commisioner and fans want it...

    1. The Ravens are not varying their offensive game plan enough from week to week and do not deviate from their normal tendencies. Who doesn't know what the Ravens would call on a 3rd and two about 90% of the time?

    2. Players are tipping the plays and counts, etc. Maybe certain players give the plays away by putting more pressure on their right hand, or lean a certain way, etc.

    3. The players are just inferior to their opponents and, thus, are just overwhelmed. Great plans can be under-appreciated with poor execution. If just one player misses his blocking assignment, the whole offensive play could be compromised.

    4. Something underhanded is going on by the other team. This could be done by using spies, mikes, etc. to hone in on the plays. This is the least-likely possible reason IMHO, but we do remember Patriot-gate a few years ago, so it cannot be completely ruled out.
    #4-- out of the question...

#3-- the talent is there and yes, the excution on both side of the ball isnt...some of that is due to personnel changes, a lack of experieince and injuries....

#2-- very plausible....very much in evidence last night as Harrison and others were getting good jumps on the snap...a few more hard counts would solve that problem...there are not so subtle things that two o-linemen are doing that don't help..Birk's head bob and Yanda squatting just before the snap...I'm sure there are more....

    1. The Ravens have two distinct offenses-- one at home that is relatively crisp and wide open, especially in the no huddle and the plodding offense on the road...after last night I am convinced Cameron goes in to road games with a plan not to lose versus a plan for winning...it's time for him to go....

No you can't. SOMETHING definitely happens to Flacco on road games. He just doesn't look or act the same. You may be right, he may suffer from some phobia when he's not at home. Maybe he suffers from Agoraphobia - an anxiety disorder or complex phobia that involves the fear of being away from home.

On closeups notice his eyes. Almost like he's staring into space. And then when the defense is on the field, he sits by himself. Last night they did a shot of him sitting on the bench and he was just sitting there staring at his left arm. It is puzzling.

Yeah. Just keep handing the ball off to Rice so he can win games for the Ravens. That's the formula alright.
how about an end around play or a reverse play i never see this when the Ravens have the ball.

Maybe the 3rd down pooch punt by Joe. I've seen Brady do it at least once.

Usually you'd expect to see him conferring with Cam or Jim or SOMEBODY about making adjustments, what is the other team dong and we can do differently, etc. But you don't see that much if ever.

Ray seems to be running scared. When this happens it is the begging of the end for a RB.

Rice has over a 1000 yards total offense, 7 tds, and average's 4.3 yards a carry. Also every defense is focused on stopping him. Why dont we focus on something else.

Exactly, on third and inches they ran up the middle (AGAIN) and did not get the first down. Run him on the edges. Pittsburgh is tough and disciplined on defense but not fast enough to stop Rice from getting a yard (or more) around the edge to the sideline.
