The opposing defenses have been able to make pretty good calculated presumptions with the Ravens' offensive schemes. Seemingly, the defenses know the calls before they happen. There are four possible reasons for this:
1. The Ravens are not varying their offensive game plan enough from week to week and do not deviate from their normal tendencies. Who doesn't know what the Ravens would call on a 3rd and two about 90% of the time?
2. Players are tipping the plays and counts, etc. Maybe certain players give the plays away by putting more pressure on their right hand, or lean a certain way, etc.
3. The players are just inferior to their opponents and, thus, are just overwhelmed. Great plans can be under-appreciated with poor execution. If just one player misses his blocking assignment, the whole offensive play could be compromised.
4. Something underhanded is going on by the other team. This could be done by using spies, mikes, etc. to hone in on the plays. This is the least-likely possible reason IMHO, but we do remember Patriot-gate a few years ago, so it cannot be completely ruled out.
