Default Murdoch's shameful slam of 'Jewish-owned' press

"Murdoch sent out a tweet that went beyond outrageous to offensive, truly offensive. He played off the worst kind of historical libel against Jews. And while he later tweeted a semi-apology, it's not clear he understands the magnitude of his hurtful words."

"Why is Jewish owned press so consistently anti-Israel in every crisis?" Murdoch

"Well, there's the Jewish heritage of the Sulzberger family, which owns The New York Times and Murdoch sees as a rival. Beyond that, most major media outlets are owned by public companies: Comcast (NBC), Viacom (CBS), Disney (ABC), Time Warner (CNN), Tribune (Chicago Tribune and Los Angeles Times), Gannett (USA Today). The Graham family, which owns The Washington Post, isn't Jewish."

Murdoch needs to retire. Though his family is real nest of vipers (imagine that); which child would inherit the mantle up in the air. Could be highly entertaining in any event.

I think at 81 he enjoys it to much to retire.............his family on the other hand probably can't wait.

Murdoch has a disproportionate amount of credit in destroying as much credibility in journalism as possible in the name of efficient profit through entertainment. His opinions are worth much unless they're used to run his companies.

His assertion of "Jewish owned press" is a common leftwing complaint, with no foundation in fact. The lefties making this assertion tend to insist that the media is very 'pro Israel' (which has even less foundation in fact), thus Murdoch is at least observant enough to notice that US media is extremely anti-Israel--which is better than some of the braintrusts on this thread that are ridiculing him.

I see the wheel is spinning, but the hamster looks dead.

The right always goes back to its roots if you give it time.

Except that Murdoch's statements are actually championed by your beloved 'left' wing websites, not by your hated 'rightwing' website.

I've never seen Gellar, Spencer or gang say anything like this.

The sort of money required to be a media mogul has no religious affiliation.

One would think Murdoch having been in the business as long as he has would know that Jewish people don't own the press and that conspiracy theories are just that conspiracy theories.

Murdoch and Pat Robertson have similar reasoning.
