John McCain could not attain Susan Rice's knowledge of foreign policy if he lived to the age of 500....Listening to John McCain prattle about foreign policy is like listening to Casey Anthony for parenting advice....John McCain could not find Libya or Egypt on a world map if his life depended on it...Republican spending cuts for security at our overseas embassies and consulates is why the Benghazi tragedy happened 2 1/2 months ago.

McCain and Rice are on the same page when it comes to an interventionist US foreign policy. That the dullards are struck, slack jawed and drooling, over the shiny baubles of D and R, black and white and male and female is simply par for the course.

I like the fact that she is going to the meeting armed for Bear with the Acting Director of the CIA. I would love to be a fly on that wall.

As I have noted before, McCain's 'softening' is most likely because someone finally let him in what the CIA was actually doing in Benghazi. The meeting is mere political theater for the masses.

Oh, I agree with that, it is to give McCain and his weasily side-kick a way out.

What I don't like is that she will then go on to make the rounds on the Hill with both Republicans and Democrats which tells me she is probably Obama's choice for SOS. With the Fiscal Cliff negotiations looming and other far more important policy matters to address I don't think a possibly contentious confirmation hearing is a battle he should be fighting right now. Plus I am not a fan of Rice and I think there are better candidates out there and available.

Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran! We certainly dodged a bullet when we elected Obama, rather than a doddering bitter old man like McCain, regardless of his past service.

In retrospect McCain may have had the right idea. Eventually it's going to be left up to us or those ebil Joooooo's.

I am still trying to get Obama to see the light of sanity and reason and nominate you, but he seems to be hellbent on repeating Bush's mistakes.

Oh please, Susan Rice was given the intelligence the Obama administration wanted to promote, as an election had everything to do with public knowledge about terrorist actions in the Obama-propped up Libyan factions.[/quote]

She's Obama's choice and she will be confirmed. End of story...

I told everyone here that McCain was not softening his tone on Susan Rice. He stated he would reconsider his objection to Rice's nomination after she explained her position. Well it seems Rice agreed that she should not have told the Americans the video and protesters is what caused the death of 4 Americans.

It looks to me dsummoner, that rather than accept the olive branch offered, John McCain and his weasley side-kick decided to double-down on Ambassador Rice. Silly John McCain and his weasley side-kick!

A very important meeting between Susan Rice and Republican's who oppose her took place. Yet only CNN and Fox News are covering the results. Why? Because it seems Ms. Rice admitted it was wrong of her to go on national tv and claim protestors and a video caused the deaths of 4 Americans. Stay tuned people, the truth will prevail!

That's incorrect. If that were the case, I doubt McCain and co. would still be irrationally upset...

The focus on Mrs. Rice makes no sense. I'm guessing she didn't tell them what they wanted to hear.

Did Ambassador Rice or the Director of the CIA tell you that or did John McCain and his weasily side-kick tell you that?

Why are you still whining about this, Scott?

Rice is an incompetent buffoon who lied to protect your incompetent, racist homeboy, Barry Obama.

    Deal with it.

It does not make sense to me either. If there is a "smoking gun" it is not in the hands of Ambassador Rice! McCain is coming across as extremely petty, disrespectful, resentful, cowardly and a horses rear end. And that is putting it mildly.

It is all part and parcel of the political theater - the antagonists, the protagonists, the situational dilemma!
