She's a rising star in the republican party, from a solidly conservative state. Thoughts, anyone?
Who was her opponent and what part of Utah was she running her campaign in?
Utah is a very Red state but I think the urban areas there are still pretty Blue like most of the US...
Because she faced a fairly conservative guy that's been in Congress for six terms. he was probably conservative enough for the district, had the war-chest and had experience bringing home the bacon. His father was once Governor or Utah, and his brother was once the Democratic nominee. He is also a Mormon.

He is the incumbent in the 2nd district, but they ran for the newly created 4th, which includes Salt Lake City.
