With 30 seconds left, they've thrown the ball over 60 times and handed off to RBs 7 times...

I love when the Cowboys lose. They get so much attention, yet have been mediocre for so long.

Last I heard they were 100-101 in their last 201 games. Can't understand why such an average team gets treated like they are perennial champions.

I think it was ESPN that ran a segment pondering whether the Cowboys could "run the table" after they beat Philly. The speed at which the national media jump on the Cowboys bandwagon after they play a game in which they don't embarrass themselves is always comical...

    totally irrelevant .........

jerry jones is a modern day pt barnum .......

but as bad as they are, they are way more relevant than the redskins having made the playoffs 4 x as many times and winning superbowls in the past 20 years ..........

they were the team of the early 90's, the redskins the team of nfl strike years in the 80's .......

What strike "years" are you talking about in the 80s? If my memory serves me, there were 2 strike months in 82... Oh and the skins did have a very dominant team in 91...

What I find funny is that Ravens fans love to bash the Skins and talk shi t on them all day long, yet supposedly they are "irrelevant." Skins fans couldn't care less about the Ravens, yet the Ravens fans can't seem to stop talking about the Skins. Weird... You get 1 Super Bowl ring a decade ago, and all of a sudden you are the greatest franchise in sports. Neato!!

Jones is a bigger than life figure and a constant source of news in the NFL. The Cowboys were long time winners and accumulated some Lombardies.

It is natural they get media attention like all well know brands and they are a well known brand.

nfl strikes during the season in 1982 and 1987 .......

"The 1982 NFL strike began on September 21, 1982, and lasted 57 days, ending on November 16, 1982."

"The NFLPA struck for a month in 1987 upon the expiration of the 1982 CBA; the league's free-agent policy was the major matter in dispute. This time, however, the strike only canceled one week of the season. For three weeks, the NFL staged games with hastily assembled replacement teams"

2 of the 3 years the redskins won superbowl were asterisk seasons- one during the strike shorten season and one during the replacement players fiasco .......

    don't like raven's fans, don't read and post on a raven's forum ........

the skins are one of the worst, if not the worst franchise in the nfl in the past 20 years while the ravens are one of the top 5 franchises this century ......

Yup. The Ravens were considered finished at 6-2 after the Houston game, yet at 5-5 (prior to Thursday's game), the Cowboys were again considered a legitimate threat.

But the NFC East is kind of to blame. No team seems to want to play consistently well enough to lock up the division.

I love that retarded "asterisk" claim from Baltimorons and other haters. They played the games they were told to play and won the Super Bowl. One year only one game was cancelled.

I guess you're in the habit of trying to belittle the accomplishments of Redskins.

So a won/loss record has no bearing on how a team should be viewed? If the Cowboys are relevant, it's because people love drama. Jones and his underachieving teams create plenty.

Not sure why you used a comparison to Washington. Before this year I also would say the same about them. Having RGIII and playing the way he has gets them the coverage, much like Newton did last year for the Panthers.

I still think Dallas gets far to much coverage for being a very average team.

They aren't even in the running. Of course, you don't know much football and just have a hard on for hating the Redskins so carry on.

    lol, really? .......

playoffs 4 times in the past 20 years, 2 of them in the 90's ........

double digit losses 10 of the last 20 seasons .....

above .500 5 of the past 20 seasons (if you give them the 8-7-1 year ) ......

heck, even the bengals have made the playoffs more than the redskins in the past 10 years ........

clearly one of the worst franchise in the past 20 years .......

Washington has been putrid franchise the past 20. By far one of the bottom 3-5 teams in the NFL during that time.

And yet we've never lost a team to a lesser city.

For an eight year period following the 2000 Super Bowl, that putrid franchise had as many playoff wins as your team. That's awesome.

cute, try to cherry pick years, leave out the past few seasons, etc but your math still fails ......

    from 2001 - 2009 ravens won 4 playoff games, redskins 1 ........

ravens have been in the playoffs 8 times this century, redskins 2 ......

ravens have won 10 playoff games this century, redskins 1 .......

nice try troll, typical lack of football knowledge from a member of the ronald mcdonald fan club .......

take a look at one of the best franchises ....

and one of the worst .......

2001-2007. 8 year period following 2000, 7 seasons. Congrats, your franchise ran toe-to-toe with Snyder's.
