    Default Rex Ryan

How many of the posters here wanted Rex Ryan as our coach? Too many, admit who you are because I will never read your posts again. I knew it but caught lots of grief way back when.

About 80% of those posters left when the Sun went to a pay wall.

Like just about any coach, Rex's schemes work really well when he has talented players in key positions. Take away Revis, open up 1/3 to 1/2 the field, and watch the pass rushers age a little bit... and Rex's mad science, so much better than everyone else gameplan... pretty frequently gets run off the field by good QBs. Happened here in '07, and it's happened a lot more than some want to acknowledge since he went to NY.

At the time I didn't know enough to second guess the decision to hire Harbaugh over Ryan, although I have since much preferred Harbaugh's approach, more of a team concept, less personality-driven. I'm glad and have been that Rex is not the Ravens' coach. That said, the Jets are dysfunctional and sofa king messed up that it is beyond one person's fault or ability to fix, though Ryan sure has not helped. He will get another DC job and probably do well at it, though I'm sure it won't be here.

What an asinine thread. Rex is not a bad coach just because the team is doing bad. Talent has a lot to do with it. Injuries have a lot to do with it. Rex did great the first couple of years and all of the sudden he is not a good coach?? Come on, Man. Did you see the qb run into his own offensive lineman and fumble the ball? Rex is a good coach.

yep, at the time i hoped rex would get the job. hindsight is 20/20. i knew rex would wear out his welcome in new york, i just didn't think it would happen this fast. it's one thing to go thru losing years but it's quite another to be a big-mouthed braggart & then go thru losing years. nobody cares about you at that point.

I have seen some really bad threads on here but this one has to be the worst of the worst. Here's a guy who wants everyone to admit who wanted Rex Ryan as our head coach not so he could tell you he told you so but he wants you to admit it simply so he can stop reading any of your posts in the future. Is this the most ridiculous thread ever? If this guy is 13 or 14 years old then I can understand this thread but if he is any older than that then I feel so sorry for him.

Just for the record, he has a 32-26 record with two afc championship appearances and that is with Mark Sanchez as his quarterback. Not too shabby if you ask me. Bad season this year? Yes but does that make him a bad coach? Absolutely not. With that said, he does run his mouth too much. If he does get fired, his next head coaching gig will require him to shut his mouth, I'm pretty sure of that.

Rex is a big bag of wind as things turn out. We definitely got the better guy - and THANK GOD Jason Garrett turned us down. Think he is regretting that now?
