Perryville goes down to New Town, I think that's a bigger upset than QO-Westminster

I agree. I'm not all that surprised by the Westminster game, I wasn't drinking the Kool Aid.

I'm in shock. Quince Orchard beat Westminster and held them to 19 pts. New Town beat Perryville. Any given Friday.

Rematch from last year. Middletown is as strong or stronger than last year. Especially on O-Line and D-Line. I hear Douglas has a much better QB than last year. Looking forward to a good game and hopefully a repeat!

It'll be the same result. If Middletown stops wr Harris #9 they will win big. Edmondson was highly disappointing the last two weeks. Douglass is not that impressive.

Everybody is an expert after the fact. Quince Orchard beating Westminster is a big upset no matter how you look at it. I hear Westminster missed a fg for the win. I think you're reacting to the thread about Gilman and Westminster but that has very little to do with this game.

The wind really kicked up in the 4th qtr of the RH game. It would have been a drag to have had to throw the ball into a wind like that with the season on the line. Thats when you have to be able to pound it.

RH beat Urbana by three TD's. I don't think either team would say that they played their best. If they had RH would have won by four TD's.

Westminster got "Oregoned", is the term I would use. As in, that one loss by Oregon every year where the offense is out of rhythm, the defense plays fairly well, and the special teams cost them the game, usually by missing a FG. If not for the blocked extra point and subsequent failed 2-point conversion Westminster had to attempt, the game would have been tied at 21.

Westminster's defense held QO on 4 consecutive plays from the 3 yard line to even give them a chance to drive down field. Kern gets them to the 20-yard line and gets them a chance to kick. Here's where Westminster is a victim of their own offensive success. Their offense was so explosive that they only had attempted 1 field goal all season, and that was late in one of their blowout wins. Now Coach Wilson trots out the kicker, who has barely kicked in a game, let alone in pressure situations, to try a 37-yard FG (pretty long range for most HS kickers), in one of the highest pressure situations imaginable.

I know football sense tells you to kick the FG, but I'm not sure the higher percentage play in that situation wouldn't be a pass into the end zone, which you've practiced much more often than a potential game-winning FG.

The real answer is River Hill!!!! I know I will get shouted down because you are not allowed to say River Hill is good or that anyone on River Hill is good but the team does the one thing your supposed to do. Win and win consistently. Not even the great Gilman can make that claim! Hey GA I heard TRIP is looking for you so he can show you where the hole is he had to crawl in after all his bluster had to stop.

If you go back to the thread when Westminster beat the Wv team, I said immediately afterwards that I believed that QO and Wise would beat them. So I was way ahead of the game and called it months ago. Westminster is a system team, just like Arundel. It's a different game when you play a team that's been there ago. QO isn't as good as they were last year but they have a program that's used to being there. This is not an upset.

Sounds like their offense had a bad night. I can see QO scoring 21 on them but not holding them to 19. Very disappointing for me.

Not even Gilman can say that? What the hell are you talking about? Gilman has won 11 titles in 16 years. That's not consistent?

Last I checked you lost 2 games this season. Now I know for a certainty that preseason wins do not count but I did not know that in season losses did not count for Gilman!!!

Gilman lost to 2 of the best teams in the country. It's not like playing Hammond or whatever bad Hoco teams. GIlman's second team would beat River Hill and that's not even a joke.
