f..... I assume that means fans!!!!!
Just found out the 3A Championship game is Thursday. I thought they did away with that game. The winner of the MM/Huntingtown game tomorrow only has 3 days to prepare?? I'll start it off this year. It's time to change the venue.
I have to say, as much as you believe that Gilman is the greatest football team to ever walk onto a field, there is no way that their second team could ever beat River Hill, or any of the top teams in the Publics. First team, of course. They have lineman that would dominate at the line of scrimmage, but that's where the Privates beat the Publics. To make bold, unsubstantiated claims that second teams can beat the best of the Publics is just plain old unfounded arrogance. Just remember, at some point, it is only well-coached 17-18 year olds playing other well-coach 17-18 year olds, nothing more. In the end, we will never know, so stop being a blowhard. You sound silly.
True we will never know but I wasn't joking. Gilman's second team this year would beat River Hill. Their 2nd team QB Kai Locksley already has D1 offers and will be a four star recruit when he's senior. He would be RH's best player by a mile. You talk about the line difference well let me educate you about Gilman's line, they started 11 different O-linemen this year. They have linemen for days. Lets not even talk about skill players. Gilman's best skill players didn't even start for them because they were underclassmen. Gilman went 5 deep at RB. The only place where Gilman's second team would be hurting would be at the LB position.
When you talk Gilman and Good Counsel, you're talking about teams that this year were on another level than the rest of the state. Both teams have over 20 players each that will play D1 ball. Next year things will be a little different for both teams but it would be ugly for any public against them this year. And I so believe that both teams 2nd team would beat almost any team in the state.
I agree with you that the overall depth is better but you only need 11 players in a one game playoff. I'm not sure schematically they are superior to some of the publics so the top public school can beat these private schools. My point is River Hill, Wise, and Middletown have tremendous coaching and would play Gilman tough in a 1 game situation but through an entire year of playing Gilmans and Good Counsel's schedule these teams would be around 500.
Dunbar 16 Brunswick 0 Halftime
Last I heard Milford Mill and Huntingtown were tied 0-0 in the 2nd quarter.
Wise is putting a beat down on Meade 21-0 at halftime
You get more idiotic by the day. If having the most Division 1 recruits and the biggest line was how you measured how good a team was then we wouldn't play the games and Gilman would be the best team in the Nation. Unfortunately for you, that is not how you measure a team and thus why you are a joke. The better public school teams could hang (but lose) to Gilman's first team and they would destroy Gilman's second team. If Gilman was deep, they wouldn't have had so many players playing both ways in that whooping that Moeller laid on them.
Wise 21, Meade 0 halftime
Dunbar 16, Brunswick 0 halftime
Huntingtown 6, Milford Mill 0 halftime
Wise now up 28-0 8 minutes left in the 3rd
If Gilman and GC played any public school this year, it would be a complete blowout and they wouldn't lose a game. The two teams lost three games all to Nationally Ranked opponents. You actually think that Gilman and GC would be .500 playing the Top publics? You have definitely lost it.
As fat as more depth, that's an understatement. How many players on these teams could start at either school? Not many.
Wise up 34-0 at the end of the 3rd. PAT was no good so clock isnt running yet. It will be soon though.
That was quick. Wise up 40-0 after another TD run. The running clock has started.
Wise is the best public school team in the state by far.
Wise wins 40-0 final
Huntingtown up 13-0 at the end of the 3rd
Huntingtown is pulling away. Up 20-0 with 10 min left.
