Awl shucks, yes we still wear straw hats down here and I'm shuffling and staring at my feet to write but it would be a great honor to travel up to the big city up North and play a football game under the great stadium lights (this actually might be an issue cause Wise and Douglas play Sat afternoon games). Regarding River Hill, though I do respect 'em, with every loss, I take off my straw hat and hold it over my chest and look up and thank the heavens. Good luck. I hope Huntingtown beats your butts by a hundred.

This is be kind of talk I like to hear! Don't just let Oil Can and the River Hill faithful think that all they have to do is show up and win. Let them know that the boys out that way aren't afraid.

I'm not you. I have never predicted a RH victory in any contest including this one. Looking forward to a good game. Afterwards, I would like to get 4 RH boosters over 40 and challange the So. MD boosters to a 4 x 100 meter race.

And I'll lay odds on one or more of the booster quacks going into cardiac-arrest before the first team crosses the finish line in plus 2-minutes.

    Just sayin'

Oh my Gosh, Oil Can/ River Hill is unraveling just a bit. RH is a very good team, no reason to get the shakes. Regarding a 4X1 race, you don't want to do that. PG county is full of very fast old men many of whom who can still circle their butts around track lanes. I know cause I jog/run in some of the same So Md schools/county parks. But this is a weekend for State Champs games and it is about the schools and athletes starting tonight with Huntingtown V RH. I'm glad to share the track with all the Md HS sports enthusiast and experts on this forum.

All eight teams were terrific this weekend. The constellations didn't align perfectly for So Md but we learn with every game. One future thing Ned Sparks might consider is that politically powerful PG County might be running low on patients regarding having to travel their teams and fans up to that freaking ice box coffin MT stadium every year, especially if kids are going to play games on freezing far away December nights. Maybe time to discuss a reasonable compromise with annual switches 'tween College Park (where the games had been played for light years). I'm grateful for the CW TV coverage. From TV minutes I did see, I thought the CW commentators were fantastic, informed, insightful and unbiased (which was a surprise given the animosity 'tween Sinclair/Smiths and PG county so props to CW TV). Special Congrats to RH and QO. I was impressed with QO. They are a well coached, talented, smart and disciplined team.
