    Default I'm So Disgusted

If the Ravens don't put a drive together and score to start the 2nd half I am turning the game off. This will be a loss. I am just so tired of Cam Cameron, his awful play calling and this offense. Inept doesn't even begin to describe it.

Even when we win in most cases it is hard to watch.

I mean quite truthfully its bizarre to me to see the worst Ravens team in recent memory with the best Ravens record in recent memory. I hope they win the game but can you imagine this team being 9 and 2?

You missed a helluva game there !!
One of the best Ravens finishes of all time!
Flacco was HUGE for the final 25 minutes and Cam called some nice plays too !!

Really? At the start of the year everyone was talking about how DIFFICULT the schedule was. Sorry..."weak schedule" is wrong.

    Truth. Yet...

the Ravens ARE 9-2, and the Steelers ARE 6-5.

    Go figure.

    Insanity rules the roost!!

Let's be honest. Ravens should have been toast on 4th and 29 after some really odd play calls by Cam. The dump to Rice was because of coverage or Flacco would have thrown downfield there.

On the ball thrown to Smith down the side line. Awful play call and a lucky result because of a great catch. I saw improvement in focus from the offense and more running up the middle to negate the Chargers speed. But I would hardly say Cam improved anything. All of a sudden Flacco got comfortable and stopped sailing passes.

It wasn't a matter of "all of a sudden Flacco got comfortable and stopped sailing passes". It was a matter of when their backs were up against the wall, and there was a hurried pace because of the game-imposed urgency, Joe got into a RHYTHM. You do understand that, don't you? What happens other times is that Cameron drags the game down to a crawl, and it's simply impossible to get any sort of rhythm going where you get the D on its heels. 2 runs up the middle then 3rd and long is NOT a QBs best friend. But Cameron doesn't seem to know how to do that from the start, and/or for 4 quarters. Sometimes he gets out to a big lead, then drags everything down. Other times, he's slow out of the gate with his scripted play calling, and forces Joe's hand late in the game. Any way you slice it, Cameron is a liability.

Bingo! Good post. Glad to see somebody understands what they are looking at on the field! Also, glad you decided to come back and watch the game Andy. You would have missed a lot of excitement.

The problem lies in the fact that in order for Joe to get comfortable and in a rhythm he either needs to be at home or in a road venue where crowd noise is a non-factor. We all know the home and away splits. The reality is that the hurry-up, sugar-huddle or whatever you want to call it is a gimmick. It's a gimmick offense to cover up for the combined deficiencies of Flacco and Cameron. I say use what works but when you can only use what works in half of your games then you have a problem. The defense deserves a lot of credit for pretty much shutting down the Bolts in the 2nd half.

The problem lies in the fact that Cameron is inconsistent, and that causes the entire offense to be inconsistent. It has less to do with road/home per se; it has to do with the way Cameron CALLS the plays on the road vs at home. It was their PLAN to turn this game into an AFCN type of grind it out game. The announcers who did the pre game interview(s) with Harbaugh said that's exactly what he told them. And that's got NOTHING to do with Joe or Joe's abilities -- certainly not his passing abilities. It was the coaching staff's stated goal. And it's very difficult to establish any rhythm using that approach. All other factors are NOT equal because Cameron factors in MORE than anyone else. And it's been evident for years. But he's Harbaugh's guy, and the Ravens are 9-2, so nothing is going to change.

i agree Cam stinks the whole game we sucked big time. for a while if we have inches for 1 st down FLACCO should do the QB sneak if someone else from the Ravens try it never works.

it happens like that sometimes .......

like the terp b ball team that won the national championship wasn't one of the best 5, maybe 10 teams in my lifetime .......

What about the year the Ravens won the SB? How many games did the offense not even score a TD? They won with D and STs. Crazy.

I actually left the room and took a nap at half time, not particularly concerned about seeing the second half. When I returned, the Ravens had scored 3 points, so I figured they had at least moved the ball a little, and perhaps even gotten a couple of first downs. Clearly something happened to wake up the offense (or maybe the Chargers' defense went to sleep) because all of a sudden Flacco had protection and the receivers were getting open, and that helps a QB a lot.

Also, it looks to me like this defense is really beginning to grow some stones. Special props to Paul Kruger, Arthur Jones, Cary Williams and Corey Graham. And Ajanbadejo was a beast filling in for Ellerbee.

I was not expecting to win this game going in due to time and place, and maybe I was overestimating a lousy Chargers' team, but it turned out to be a great gut-check victory for the Ravens, who never seem to look overly impressive but find ways to win.

I would simply love to see what Joe could do with a different OC.

I sure hope no one turned this game off. It was one of those games that had to be endured while watching it, but it is one that Ravens fans will be talking about for a long time. A fourth and 29 1 yard dump-off that works? Are you kidding me???????

I had expectations that they would lose this game going into it, so no I did not turn it off. But sure was pleasantly surprised at the end of it!
