We don't provide security for under cover CIA Agents or for Special Forces, they provide their own security and are only responsible for themselves.

Now the only problem with this picture is Ambassador Stevens and what he was doing there mixed up with this nest of CIA Agents and the operations they were conducting. The only conclusion I can come to is that the Ambassador was involved with the CIA and the operations they were conducting which means he was doing something clandestine to! And that my friend puts him in the same boat as the CIA with responsibility for his own safety.

Now had the Ambassador not unfortunately have died from smoke inhalation then you would never have heard about Benghazi or the other 3 deaths because it would have been all hushed up. But because you can't just knock off an Ambassador even though he was obviously involved in something he should not normally have been, is why we have this embarrassing mess that unfortunately those on the right have chosen to play political football with.
Anyway you look at it, there obviously wasn't enough security.

Please post a link to the whole story as you understand it. I'd like to read it.

I have no one link my friend because I draw my information and conclusions from a whole host of sources plus my own experience and common sense. But I would respectfully suggest that if you really have an interest you should take the time to read the Benghazi thread where a number of very informed and knowledgeable posters have been discussing the subject for weeks.

You have a good night, Just Pondering.

Johnny is going to have to fold. People are nolonger questioning McCains motives. They are now questioning his sanity. It's been a while since McCain has has had one of his infamous melt downs. Hopefully this one will be in public. It is a spectacle. His face turns blood red and the spit flies as he's screaming obscenities that would make a old jaded hooker blush.

I posted this earlier Wiz and I think it is as close to the truth on McCain and Rice as you are going to get:

Remember telling me to think outside the box onetime?

You need to think outside of the box. McCain and the Republicans don't want Susan Rice as Secretary of State because she doesn't have a Senate Seat to give up. They want John Kerry to be Secretary of State so that Scott Brown can contest and possibly win Kerry's Senate seat in Massachusetts!

Oh, what tangled webs we weave................! Think politics not false patriotism!

Good night to you. I have found a summary article noting multiple information sources from which to draw my conclusions:

Here is the link to the C-SPAN covered Congressional investigation into the Benghazi attack at the Diplomatic Facility. It's a 2 part 3 hour long commercial free coverage.

Two guys armed only with a pistol. So "they" can send in two guys, but not the entire US Cavalry because they did not know what was actually happening on the ground? Does that thought process really make any sense?

Second, it was the intelligence community, not officials at the White House or State Department, that eliminated from the talking points used by Rice after the Benghazi attack the suspected involvement of the Libyan jihadist group, Ansar al-Sharia.

According to accounts of former CIA director David Petraeus' closed door testimony about Benghazi to congressional intelligence committees earlier this month, the intelligence community eliminated references to Ansar al-Sharia in the talking points so as not to tip off members of the terrorist group that the CIA believed that they were responsible for the attack.

The conspiracy therefore was not to mislead the American public but to mislead America's enemies.

If Rice had gone beyond her unclassified talking points and said that Ansar al-Sharia was suspected to be behind the Benghazi attacks, no doubt she would now be being hounded for the unauthorized disclosure of classified information.

Rice said on 9/16 that it hadn't yet been determined if Al Qaeda or local Libyan extremists were behind the attacks. She never ruled out Al Qaeda involvement and never claimed that it wasn't a terror attack. This whole issue is bogus...

Strange that Susan Rice was not directed to hit the talk show circuit after Sec. Hillary finally admitted it was an Al Qaida connected attack and clarify to the public who actually was involved. It only seemed important to the WH to downplay any Al Qaida affiliated attack just prior to the election. It's no wonder there are so many people who are dissatisfied with the lack of explanation coming out of this administration.

Still no evidence of Al Qaeda involvement. Atleast the CIA doesnt think so. Why should they have blamed Al Qaeda when it was obvious that locals were behind the attacks?

So why is the news reporting Susan Rice was sent out with de-classified information given to her by the NIA with the CIA's and FBI's approval because they did not want to tip off Al Qaida to the CIA's mole?

Sen. Lieberman, the guy who Republicans called out as a phony conservative and through him out of the Senate. So who relabels himself an Independent siding with Democrats so who was able to get reelected back into the Senate. So is it no wonder Susan Rice met with him? His answer to her qualifications was so predictable.

    Lazy journalism I guess.

The Libyan group, Ansar Al Sharia is suspected of being behind the attacks. The CIA didn't want the name of the group mentioned in the talking points they gave to Rice...

I'm no fan of Lieberman but he clearly doesn't have a political motive for his statement yesterday. He is retiring at the end of the year so he is the least likely to be playing politics out of all the Senators who met with Rice yesterday.

Suzie Rice should be made Ambassadress to Libya. That might make Johnny happy.

With Susan Rice being on the short list for the Secretary of State job, then why was she not told about the changes made to the CIA's report? There are just too many things surrounding this scandal that does not make reasonable sense!
