Baltimore County Police said Monday afternoon that 24-year-old Towson resident Tyler Waldman is at Shock Trauma with life-threatening injuries after a two-car crash earlier this morning in Towson.

Waldman, who lives in the 300 block of Stevenson Lane, is a a graduate of Towson High School and Towson University.

He formerly served as an intern at the Towson Times, and was the first editor of the hyperlocal news site, Towson Patch. He served there until he moved to that company's Essex-Middle River website in late August.

Thanks, it sounds like this could potentially be the fault of the other driver:

Baltimore County Police said fire and police units responded to the corner of Goucher Boulevard and East Joppa Road at 9:18 a.m, where the preliminary investigation indicates Waldman was driving a Honda Civic on Goucher Boulevard through the intersection of East Joppa Road.

A Ford Mustang traveling east on East Joppa Road struck the Civic. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

I am sorry to hear about your friend. It seems like I have seen so many accidents recently and than we had the two horrible crashes last week. I am not sure people fully understand how dangerous it is out these. I hope your friend is getting the best of care and makes a full recovery.

I've been near Joppa and Goucher and I've seen people driving like a bat outta hell, speeding up and down Joppa and Goucher.

I drive through that intersection a few times a week. I agree.

    Baltimore Sun update: http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/mar...,5626255.story

Tyler Waldman is thankfully in "fair" condition now at Shock Trauma, according to the article, the other driver driving a 2013 Mustang only suffered "non-life threatening injuries."

Police said Waldman, a 24-year-old graduate of Towson High and Towson University, was driving a 1999 Honda Civic north on Goucher Boulevard when his car collided with a 2013 Ford Mustang driven by Shervale Kinney, 37, of Rosedale.

Kinney was treated for non-life threatening injuries at Sinai Hospital.

County emergency spokeswoman Elise Armacost said “about 10” fire and EMS units from the Towson and Hillendale stations, as well as the Lutherville Volunteer Fire Company, responded to the scene.
