Thanks for running spell check for me but I was so PO'd reading this thread I could have cared less about details like that. Then the guy who starts this imbecilic thread tells me not to read it then. Wow, such profound advice. He is correct though, as I wish I hadn't read it.
Maybe it's different on your computer, but on mine, spell check runs itself. I don't have to do anything special. As soon as a word gets misspelled, a red squiggly line shows up underneath, to let me know the word is misspelled. I don't know what I'd do without spell check.
Harbaugh's going to do what he's always done with Ray Lewis and Ed Reed- if they're capable of playing, they'll play. Quality of play is irrelevant with the untouchables. They dictate whether they're out on the field or not and apparently, Harbaugh is fine with that scenario. Neither should be out there. They're both done playing at a high level and several times this year, have been embarrassed. Lewis probably won't play against the Steelers but I have no doubt he'll be on the field the following week. Bank on it.
So Reed and Ray's replacements wouldn't ever be embarassed? You act like they have superstars just sitting around waiting to play at their level. The experience and knowledge of the opposition alone makes Reed and Ray superior to anyone else they could put out there. You have to realize that right????![]()
I don't see what the big deal is. Harbaugh has it under control.
I'm more worried about Cam's horrible play calls and Flacco's inability to audible.
Every defensive player's going to be burned at some point but the bottom line is that this unit is playing better without Lewis. It was the same situation last year too when he was down for 4 games. Are the next in line superstars? No, but they're better than Lewis and Reed. How can they not be? I appreciate everything Ray and Ed have done for this team and have some great memories but nothing lasts forever and it's time to move on. Experience and knowledge goes only so far before the opposition just starts to beat you down physically. I know a lot of fans have purple-stained glasses on when it comes to these two(including their head coach) but old man time is very unforgiving and it would be a shame to watch them go out being embarrassed anymore than they already have.
Perfectly said. As with most superstars, regardless of the sport, it's tough to admit that Father Time has caught up with you. Most, if not all, when reaching that point in life have a hard time accepting the reality of it. The bottom line is you don't sacrifice the ship to save a few. Ray and Ed have been outstanding as Ravens and I don't think there's one of us who don't appreciate that. The defense is playing better without Ray.
I suspect that Harbaugh is a loyal coach up to a point. In my opinion, Ray and Ed bring a number of intangibles including a wealth of experience...(Ray has lost a coupe of steps to be sure, but his long years of experience and thousands of hours of film studying help him to take the first or second step early.
The question on Ray would be: are his intangibles (leadership, passion, anticipation) enough to overcome the facts that he has slowed down, etc.?
If Harbaugh were to ask me (rrrriiiiigggghhhht!!) I would ask Ray to consider coming back for the Denver game. Ray always has seemed to figure out Manning's tendencies as well as Brady's. In that game, his experience and insight might make a bigger difference.
