Sprightly, however, supports a two-state solution and always has. I just don't hold hatred against either "side" as do you and your buddies. Denial of that hatred is futile.

It certainly did not turn out that way for those poor slaughtered souls on the Liberty and only being two miles away at the time and having heard (not personally) all of the intercepts by all parties in the 24 hours leading up to the attack you will never convince me that this was anything more than a deliberate murderous attack by Israel on a known and fully identified American ship.

Plus from 1976 to 1979 while an exchange officer with the USN I was privileged to have Admiral Kidd in Norfolk as my direct boss! And although he conducted, under orders the sham of an inquiry into the attack he died a very unhappy and devastated man knowing what he had been ordered to do. Which was to throw the crew of the Liberty under the bus on behalf of a foreign power!

I know you will find this hard to believe from me but one of the few things I like about Obama is that he is the first President in my life who does not kowtow to Israel and
AIPAC. I guess he is secure in knowing thatAmerican Jews wil vote for whoever is the democrat nominee for President regardless of how he or she interacts with Israel. Approx. 70% of them voted for him last month. The Liberty attack not the only reason I am no be fan anymore of Israel. The Ronald Pollard outrage is another. Then there was an incident generally ignored that happened at least 15 years ago in Montgomery county, maryland where two young men murdered another one, almost decapitated him. One of the perps was jewish. His father, a lawyer, got him out of the US to Israel. Israel refused to exradite him to stand trial. Some ally huh? I could see not sending him to some Arab country but he certainly would have gotten a fair trial in maryland especially since the State's attorney at that time was Doug Gansler, who is jewish. My sentiments are very close to your own on Israel my friend and issues that I have are with some Israeli leaders and actions in general but Bibi Netanyahu in particular who has no plans for peace in the Middle East and never will have any plans for peace that includes a two State solution. I have no issues with the State of Israel or with the majority of the Israeli people that if the truth be known do not support Netanyhu. But Bibi has them so scared about a non-existent (because it is a threat of his own making) existential threat that they will probably reelect him with an increased majority in January. Which of course is what this last 3 weeks have been all about.

As for any personal attacks, no need for an apology, I have done my fair share back. But at the end of the day, as is most often the case, we find that there is much more that unites us than that which divides us. Peace!
