Huge loss for Aberdeen in their quest to repeat. I wish Jones a speedy recovery.
Seems like a lot of speculation in that article about Big Bri. Why not wait until there is a true diagnosis and then write a story.
That being said, City College vs. Digital tomorrow at Digital. Best two teams in the City from what I've seen. City beat them last year, but this year it's @Digital and City has not played any real competition up until this point. The game will rest in how quickly City can adjust to the increase in athleticism and speed of the game. Whoever wins this game may not lose again until states.
City made a couple runs once they realized they were playing against a bigger, better, older team. Ended up 61-53. Need to shoot better from the free throw line. Also, coach Petrides needs to schedule some early competitive games so they won't be shell-shocked against good teams.
Dyzhanay Burton 17pts 6 steals 4 assists 2 turnovers
City just came out looking really nervous with a lot of careless turnovers. I think you're right about playing better competition because it looks like they got better as the game went on. Hopefully they got that out of their system because they can possibly face DH 2 more times this season.
So much for the demise of Aberdeen. They made a big time statement tonight
I think Aberdeen is definitely making a statement right now. To be honest, I think they are more lethal without Bri because they can use their athleticism and run the floor. I can not wait to see how they perform against Riverdale Baptist on Thurs. Congrats ladies!
mervo 37(13-1 I might add), western 31 .....not as close as the score indicates.....baltimore city officiating is horrible and completely bias!!!!!! when will other schools get some respect on this board!!!!
I would beg to say not in 20 years!!!
thats an excuse djgreg1200 frankly the girls that left should not have been registered at western in the first place...living in the couty the whole time ;-)
Western is not very good this year. They have struggled since Tiffany left.
She was a bad fit at Western Period. Her resume as a coach was not what they needed. And please stop making excuses for county kids being on their roster. We see this on the boys side all the time. Point blank. Poly/City, Digital and the IAAM are finally eating now that she is gone. She had a handcuff on talent and winning in the Baltimore Metro Area. And everyone misses the Beast of East (formerly the Breezy Bishop) at Poly/Western. Western has never lost to Mervo. Maybe chess, but never basketball. And to top it off she lost to a Western alum. That is the dumbest decission the school and A.D. made. Everyone knows Western is known for Basketball/Track when it comes to sports. She needs to be fired. Her record in 2 yrs against the Poly/Digital/City/Dunbar and now Mervo is 2-6 possibly 2-7. Silver only lost 3 games in 6 yrs to people in Baltimore.
City Championship should be Digital/Poly. IAAM Championship MAYBE Mcdonogh/Spalding beware of SFA/RPCS/Keough playing very well as of late. And Mcdonogh cancelled their SFA game.
And City beat Western by 40. How many times have you scene a running clock when Western was on the other end of it.
I'm not making an excuse at all bmoreinlife and I understand your point......but see how you just skipped over division 2 and didn't even mention Mervo. It's not their fault they're in that division and don't say division 1 has better teams city poly that's it oh an digital!!!!! Mervo has ran through the rest of the division 1 and what in saying is their other schools that deserve to be mentioned.
Mervo is doing it the right way in girls basketball!!!
