Mervo is definitely improving, but having said that City still beat them by 38 points. They're 13-1 but the best team they beat is Western and I think we all agree that Western is down. Their only possible loss the rest of the way is is NewTown. They don't play Dunbar, Poly, or Digital.

Is Poly really better than City? I guess we'll see in the last game of the year. The winner of that game will probably play Digital for the City championship. City is more athletic and talented, but Poly is better coached by a long ways and they play together as one basketball.

I'll go on record now saying City beats Poly.

And MATHs is definitely top 4 in City.

I resent that statement about who mervo or franklin plays everybody plays everybody else...this city leans towards other programs and you know it...explain to me how you have a 2 or 3 teams with subpar .500 records in the top 15 gtfoh!!!

Dunbar played Aberdeen last Tuesday, and it was on the schedule since the beginning of the season, so it must have been a scheduling screw-up. And you don't have to tell me about teams with as many losses as wins being ranked, I started that thread a month ago. Search my posts.

And I'm not insulting Mervo by saying their schedule is weak. I say the same thing about City College.

City beats Poly 48-40. Junior point guard Dyzhanay DaDa Burton got hot in the 4th and led the Knights back from 10 point deficit. They play Digital in City Championship Wednesday night at BCCC.

Congrats to the Lady Knights! Great job by DaDa to step it up in the 4th qtr to lead the team to victory. She's putting together a great high school career. I think they have a real good shot at getting to Comcast this year but let's start with bringing that city title home first.

Well Mervo got their No#1 seed in the 4A. Let's see if they can capitalize. Hopefully, they'll match up with Poly in the quarters.

Having said that, the 3A north region is stacked with good local teams. Aberdeen is number 1 and have the ONLY bye. City is #2 and has #3 Milford in their section. Digital is #4 and will need to get by Aberdeen if they want to make it to the RAC.

MPSSA needs to even out the regions. It's not really fair that in some regions every team gets a 1st round bye while in others everyone plays.

Good luck to the City teams. And especially City College. City Forever!

There isn't one team in the 3A North that can beat Aberdeen.

I agree with you because after I posted this I realized that I had forgot about Aberdeen but it should be a little bit more interesting because they don't have Jones now. This still should be a fun region to watch just like last year. City should get Milford at home this year after a very good game between them at Milford last year and a Digital Aberdeen rematch should be interesting.

Aberdeen is definitely the favorite but I think they'll get tested especially without Jones.

I don't think they'll be tested until they get to UMBC. I don't see any one that can match up with them. Too long, quick, and athletic......which is what really stands out about them without the older Jones

Tough night for the Lady Knights as Digital Harbor claims the city title. Digital was just way too physical and City didn't shoot the ball well. On to the playoffs.

60-43. City shot 2-22 in third. Couldn't buy a bucket. Missed 10 free throws. Bad game plan and no adjustments made to penetrate digital zones. City just kept launching from deep.

If Digital plays like this, they could sneak up and bite Aberdeen. I'd like to see that happen, personally. And Alexis Harrison showed tonight why Maryland recruited her as a freshman. Just took over. Good kid too. The fact that Digital seems to be getting better and that they are heavy with seniors could take them to the RAC. City is a year away and will be better next year.

I would like to wish City,Poly,Western and Digital good luck the rest of the way in the state tourney!!!!! Congrats to the lady mustangs on a successful 20-3 campaign...my one gripe this year is the officiating in baltimore city basketball. It's a shame that refs hold grudges and are biased to certain schools or should I say coaches, anytime the head officials come from out of the stands to correct a game in progress you know it's a problem!!!!!

Oh, they are absolutely horrible. Poor mechanics, floor/game management, poor judgement, and worse - they don't know the rules. Some of them deliberately ref to influence the game. Heard two officials in conversation talking about how they called fouls to stop a team from pressing. That my friends is cheating.
