That s the right attitude to take. If we are afraid of them with Ben at home - what right do we have to even be thinking about a deep playoff run? Bring it on - the best rivalry in pro football.

Dude - seriously? Aren't there Steeler boards you can post on? It is so weird that you spend time on a Ravens board? Whatever - your team has serious issues this year and Big Ben coming back isn't the elixr to cure all your problems. Take a hike.

Lol can you provide the link you posted last week that said that type of rib injury would keep him out the rest of the season. If he returns in 3 weeks it is safe to say Jen was just being his dramatic self when initially describing his rib injury. In fact it is almost certain since his rib is no longer a concern and the only thing keeping him from playing is his shoulder.

Thanks for input and your role as an internet tough guy is secure. I enjoy all of the AFC North Boards and will continue to do so.

he's not healthy enough to play and frankly as much as some here would like to think they are, the steelers organization isn't that stupid. I'd be surprised if he sees the field next week as well. it comes down to protecting the player and the teams investment in said player....the loss to the browns last week puts the organization in a bit of a quandry with Ben...play him this week and maybe keep you playoff hopes alive vs play him and risk losing him for the rest of the season should he reinjure his shoulder or rib cage...

I think you are correct. I don't want to see him play.

maybe jen will keep a red sharpie in his sock so he can color "blood" on his jersey around the ribcage every time he is dumped on his back....

I'm so sick of his theatrics. This guy supposedly had a life threatening injury and now we hear he "might" play only three weeks later. lol. I hope he plays and we kick the living s..t out of him.

K - whatever. I am sure they all enjoy your company. Mr Steeler badazz. Do you have an insulting avatar for each team board you visit?

Hope he doesn't play. Injury sounds pretty serious and frankly think the season is over for Steelers. Why risk it?

I am more intrigued by your QB Flacco. He reminds me of that kids rhyme: when he was good he was very very good, and when he was bad he was horrid.

I tend to think he has all the qualities to be great, but that's me!!

Roethlisberger had nothing to do with that. It was the doctors that said the rib presented a problem and would not clear him. Actually, if I were Pittsburgh's head coach I wouldn't play him or Polamalu. This game is not really that important to them. They aren't catching the Ravens for the division no matter what happens on Sunday unless the Ravens totally collapse, and that is not likely. Three of Pittsburgh's last four games are at home against Cincy, Cleve, and San Diego. All are winnable. The only road game is Dallas, and that is winnable as well. If they lose on Sunday and drop to 6-6 and then go 4-0, they get a wild card which is most likely the best they can hope for anyway. If they play Roethlisberger and he ends up getting hurt again, they are done. It makes little sense to bring Roethlisberger or Polamalu back for a game that is probably the least important in the last 5. No coach or team ever will admit to conceding a game, but if ever there was one to concede, it would seem this would be one from Pittsburgh's point of view. As we have seen over the past several years, it doesn't matter how you get to the playoffs, just that you get there and get hot at the right time.

obviously he's rented prime real estate in your head.....it's not that hard to ignore his antics...give it a try, it won't hurt and it will lower your stress level...

That's just it. It's ALWAYS a serious injury and then he comes back the next week and all is well. Evil Knievel has nothing on him (...for those too young to know, Evil Knievel made money jumping buses - and sometimes canyons - with his motorcycle. He also reportedly broke almost every bone in his body.).

They need to take tissue samples from him for scientific research. He mends quicker than any species known to man. It's just amazing!

    Football, bigger than life.
If he truly has a life-threatening injury there is no way he should play.
