Default The Ex-Lesbian Testimony of Debora Barr

    http://americansfortruth.com/2012/11...f-debora-barr/

"Radical transformation is possible! I lived 18 years of my life as a lesbian with absolutely no desire to change. Now that I have been set free from my invisible shackles, I am experiencing the most wholesome and unconditional love of my Savior, Jesus Christ and will never turn back!"

I'm sure we can find plenty of ex-straight testimonies, perhaps from posters here.

    What's the point?

    Unconditional love, indeed.

We were decided to follow him at all costs. We were determined to live out what the bible says in Luke 9:23 “Then He (Jesus) said to them all, if anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” On January 1, 2006 we publicly confessed to the women’s group at church that we were turning away from our homosexual lifestyle and following Jesus Christ. We began by moving into separate bedrooms in our house, and eventually, my partner moved out. This was an extremely painful time, but we were determined to do what was right. It felt like a physical death; the loss of physical touch and the struggle to redefine myself. I didn’t know who I was anymore, because I had identified myself as a lesbian for 18 years and at that time had actually convinced myself that I had always been gay.
Luke 9 suggests she has to deny herself. So she is denying her lesbian instinct. That's not nearly the same as being an "ex-lesbian." We don't rewrite our instincts. She's merely changed her behavior and decided not to act on her lesbianism any more - but she's still a lesbian.

Denying yourself and abandoning your partner for Jesus sounds miserable.

    kudzu--

I wouldn't consider myself a good source as I don't have any straight sexual experience.

You don't understand the difference between an attraction and acting on an attraction?

    Of course I do.

How many "lesbians" do you think are 100% attracted ONLY to other females ? Besides the ugly ones who couldn't get a man with a gun and chlorophorm, that is.

    Very, very few...

Amazing that such bigoted pejoratives are permitted on this forum.

No more amazed than I am that lilly livered pansies are permitted on this forum.

Man, woman, black, white, hetero, homo, etc... is it too much to ask that everyone try to grow a backbone and not be such a whiny victim ?
