Default Can a drug turn you into a gay sex addict?

A French court seems to think so:

A Parkinson's sufferer has won a six figure pay-out against a drug giant after his medication turned him into a 'gay sex and gambling addict'.

Didier Jambart had been a well respected man, an upstanding member of the community in Nantes, western France, and a loving father and husband.

But within two years of taking the drug Requip he was so addicted to both his vices he sold his children's toys to raise money and advertised himself on the internet for sex. He has now been given £160,000 in damages after a court in Rennes, France, upheld his claims.
Okay, I can see how it may have made him a sex addict, but how did it make him gay?

The clear explanation is that he either already was gay, or discovered he really liked exitplay.

No doubt the drug is being overnighted to gay bars throughout the world.

It's one of those drugs that acts on the dopamine system in the brain, so it is tightly bound with behaviors that strongly involve immediate risk and reward, such as gambling and sex. Usually the side-effect complaint with the drug is hypersexuality in general, not any sort of switch to homosexuality. It's most likely that this guy was already bi or homosexual, just not with as much enthusiasm.

It's a neat lil magic trick. The secret to the trick is for the person to be gay before taking the drug. That allows the drug to suppress the brain functions they use to lie about it. This in turn allows the unimpeded and unaltered truth to emerge. So the drug did not make him gay. It merely made him get honest about being gay.

I dunno. There are so many warnings now w drugs re side effects that I may have missed this--"may cause homosexual activity, really a LOT of homosexual activity. Use as directed".
