Walmart workers having the gall to go on strike is a sign of the times. It would never have happened before the advent of Obamacare and Obama's reelection. Believe it or not I know something about this country. I am an American. I was born and raised in a small rural town in Louisiana, you can't get more all-American than that. My grandparents fled communism and socialism in China. In America you sink or swim. You work for a living. You don't ask for a handout and expect to get things for free like more and more people, including illegal immigrants, are doing these days. This is not socialist China or socialist Europe where anyone who wants a free ride gets one. Here we WORK for what we have. That is how we do thingsg here in America.

And you support illegal immigration clearly. You don't care about the rule of law? Or about justice? You are saying that it makes no difference whatsoever that my family came here LEGALLY, that someone who simply swam across a river should be able to get ALL the benefits of American citizenship and all these taxpayer funded benefits????? Including in-state tuition using our tax dollars? Why are you so passionate about supporting and encouraging and rewarding illegal immigration?

Uhhh.. I voted against MD's Dream Act as I've stated here numerous times before. So no I'm not a proponent of illegals or for them getting specuial benefits or whatever. at the same time, I hate seeing bigots use this as an excuse to say/do outlandish things and refer to all hispanics as "illegals." They'll get a free ride through Obama if and after they are fired for going on strike. I wish Walmart would fire them but then they will just be on welfare and also enjoying the benefits of Obamacare paid for by other Americans. Walmart is a right to work company based in a right to work state. The fact that even in Walmart they actually have the nerve to go on strike and bite the hand that feeds them shows how far our culture and mentality has changed lately.

They should realize that they might think their job sucks but its better than being unemployed (though with Obama, being unemployed might be BETTER). This is how the world is turning upside now and American tradition and values are being subverted. Just one example.

Fast food workers in NYC strike on Thursday. Multi-billion dollar corporations are being subsidized by the government. Corporations pay their workers substandard wages and their employees are eligible for food stamps, medicaid and other government subsidies.

Ivan, yes there has always been unemployment benefits, and they have always been too generous, but with Obamacare it is getting even worse. Now everyone is guaranteed health care, as if Medicaid wasn't generous enough, especially in Maryland and other liberal states. I think everything about American traditions and culture is changing so much lately. Before, people had the mentality of working hard and earning what you have. Now its all about thinking about what they can take from the government, what the government can give them, what kind of benefits they can enjoy. People are proud to be on welfare and just like illegal aliens probably mock those of us who do an honest living as we are the ones supporting and feeding them. Some of them probably think its some kind of restitution for slavery, or for the US allegedly taking land from Mexico in the case of the illegal aliens including the illegal alien Dreamers whose hatred, contempt and mockery of the American people is now being rewarded due to the stupidity of liberal Democrat voters.

There are....FOR NOW. After the Dream Act, especially if the national Obama Dream Act is forced through against American values, you will never be sure if a Hispanci person you see really became a citizen the right way or if they were given a shortcut by the Obama White House. In a few years you see a US citizen who is Mexican you will always question whether he truly is an American or if he sneaked into the border, stole from our country and was rewarded for it by Obama.

And tell me Marshan you don't see the world turning upside down. A year ago for example Walmart workers wouldn't DARE strike or walk out. Now they have the gall to do that on Black Friday. You don't see American values disappearing? Now that Obamacare is surviging they don't care if they fired they will get a free ride anyway. Now its all about the free ride. Perhaps illegal aliens actually are ready made for assimilation in the "NEW" America.

I was at Brewer's last night and I noticed a Potbelly's is about to open at the other end of this same strip from the Chipotle.

Anyone know when it's supposed to open? It'd be nice to have another lunch option. I love Potbelly's sandwiches. The one on Pratt is too far to walk to.

The other day I think my friend figured out why Chipotle closed down - the place wasn't wheelchair accessible. It looks like that's what they fixed.
