When I was in the first grade (eons ago) they ( well, tried, I couldn't do it) made me write with my right hand even though I was decidely left-handed. They either gave up or the policy changed when I got in the 3rd grade.

Why are you so afriad of homosexualty becoming normalized? Are you afraid once it becomes normal you are going to be turned or something?

I just don't see why there is so much fear of gay people.

The problem is that voters didn't do their homework on the issue. The question was horribly written, so that any idiot coming to the polls would vote for it.

I am probably more disgusted with how Marylanders voted on that issue, than with any of the other issues. The other problem is that there should have been a much better organized campaign to fight it.

I also think that they should have copies of the new district map posted in each voting booth, so that people can see what they're voting for.

Oh, here comes the, "if you are against anything gays want then you must really be gay" bullcrap. If being gay is such a wonderful thing then why do you use it as an insult?

I don't fear gay people at all. Why would I? You are making faulty assumptions.

Ken I expected better than this crap from you. Believe me I am about as far away from being gay as a person can get. My objections are to the "social engineering" going on to make it seem normal in peoples eyes. Sorry, but it just isn't normal. Nothing wrong with not being normal but don't try to pretend that it is.

I'll be straight with you, Smokey - I seem to recall you posting about problems with women on OM, to the point of being misogynistic.

Coupled with your outspoken criticism of gays (which I personally find to be a little "abnormal"), I can see how people would be led to believe that there's something more going on.

Don't get me wrong. You and I agree on many issues. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them.

So what would you have society do? Start a gay colony? Ostracize them? I mean you keep sayin it's not normal. Fine we know that, but how do you maintain their "abnormal" status in a society whose cultural "norms" are perpetually evolving/progressing.

I voted against the congressional district plan, but there seemed to be no organized effort to promote opposition. There was a "vote for all 7 questions" effort, but basically nothing - ads, signs, mailings - specific to the issue on either side.

He should just get used to it. For centuries, gays had to hide who they are to protect their lives. Now they can finally be more open about it. That's a good thing.

Smokey - Out of curiosity, do you still consider Rock & Roll to be "the Devil's music"?

Problems with women? The only problem I can recall is that I don't agree with giving women special privileges and if that is misogynistic then so be it. Personally I don't care what gays do or if they get the marriage they want or not. Like I said I just don't like the "social engineering" aspect of trying to normalize something that isn't normal.

Re: Question 5; There was no organized effort because the dems run everything here. Who would organize it? This question passing was one of my disappointments from Tuesday too.

I voted no on 4 and 7 too, but didn't really care if they passed.

I saw the cute4st little girtl after I left my polling place holding up a sign, as a woman was walking toward the building she asked "Could you please vote for question 4?"

The woman said okay "sweetie"... I wanted to go back in and change my vote.

As for 7, I'm kinda happy that passed...especially if MD Live's already talking about 1200 new jobs, and table games as early as this spring... We shall see...

I don't advocate to do anything with them. My basic philosophy is a live and let live attitude.

Do you still beat your wife?

BTW, I play rock music in a band why would I think it is "the Devil's music"?

    Smokey-

Your "live and let live" philosophy seems to be undermined by your concern that gays are trying to normalize their status. Why should you care?

The nature of legislation is "social engineering". Humans create civilizations and we constantly manipulate the laws of these civilizations to suit the population.

The only constant in the universe is change.
