There's no magic one-shot solution but we have to start somewhere.

How long can we go on with revenue at 15% of GDP and spending over 20% of GDP and rising?

Even with a combination of spending cuts and tax increases it won't be enough to deal with the Demographic time-bomb brought about by Baby Boomers retiring and Millennials not being able to earn enough to pick up the slack to pay for their parents' retirement.

We're doomed either way. Which is why I'm not against going over the Cliff...

I say let sequestration happen. The Dumbocrats are just playing political games. Obama is an arrogant fool who thinks he has some sort o f mandate to turn us into a socialist nation.

When you look at the growing gap between the rich and poor, one can't help but wonder if capitalism hasn't run its course. What is to be done about the this? The GOP has no idea, except to protect government socialist programs that benefit older Americans who tend to vote for them. They seem to be for it. Why would anyone who isn't rich support them? What are the increasing numbers of people who cannot make ends meet to do? Eat "freedom"? Put their kids through college with "freedom"? Pay for their healthcare with "freedom"? Pay for their mortgages with "freedom"? Your side need to get a clue.

It will take more than one sentence.

    Good luck.

A serious audit of military spending would surely discover some waste. It is welfare for the MIC.

As well as government healthcare for millions of Americans, which will be the biggest expense for them before long.

How is the govt analogous to a business? What product does the govt sell? Who is their target market? What is the expected profit margin? Is there an R&D function? Sales? Marketing? Human Resources? Who are the major competitors?

    Such nonsense.

The fiscal rapine of the fiscally productive will pay for... at most 8 days of central regime spending.

The problem lies with the crackhead in Freeway Ricky Ross' stash house government spending (i.e. the metastasis of entitlement programs).

One area government should become analogous to business is the area of understanding how to budget. Most businesses understand that you cannot spend more than you take in. Government does not seem to get this point. In fact, over the last 12 years, government not only seems to not get it, but they enjoy doing the totally opposite of it.

That is just silly. A government is no more like a business than a car is like a goldfish bowl. There is nothing wrong with government debt from spending to stimulate the economy when times are tough and interest rates are low. It is foolish not to.
