    It might be a financial gain if he gets an increase in business from fundamentalist types who agree with him. The publicity he has received will likely work both ways, with some boycotting his bus service while others support him.

    You are comparing apples and oranges. He said no to providing transportation services for any weddings. If he said no to transportation services for same-sex weddings only, or same-sex black weddings only, or same-sex mixed race weddings only, I would feel differently.

    As has been pointed out, he only cut out all weddings because it would be a violation of the anti-discrimination law to deny service only on the basis of sexual orientation. (Same would apply if the discrimination were on the basis of race.)

    He would clearly prefer to keep accepting wedding business if he were allowed to discriminate against same-sex couples.
