Default MDGOP Fall Convention 2012 already results in party faction controversy

Wow. The MDGOP Fall Convention is only in its second day and there is already controversy courtesy of the Harris~Pipkin faction party in~fighting. Not even sworn in yet, the newly elected Cecil County executive has switched party affiliation from Republican to independent, creating controversy.

The incoming Cecil County executive's decision to switch her party registration from Republican to independent Thursday has become a major flashpoint at the state GOP convention in Howard County this weekend, exposing a gaping split in party ranks.

Tari Moore, who was elected Nov. 6 as Cecil's first executive under charter government, confirmed Friday that she had changed her registration -- less than four weeks after winning election under the Republican banner and with financial support from the state GOP.

And the convention still has more to come with the intra~party feuding that will call for Alex Mooney to step down before his term is up, the "no confidence" motion against National Party Chairperson Reince Priebus, and the shrinking of the Maryland Young Republicans under its current leadership.

    It never fails.

These MDGOP conventions are always a mess.

Maybe they'll take a walk down memory lane today and play some of the Red Maryland Classic Moments like Brian Griffiths' "un~endorsement" of Andy Harris in 2008 to add some additional fuel to the fire in the Harris~Pipkin intra~party issue ~ and Brian's slam against Don Dwyer was pretty funny too in retrospect.

Then they can start discussion about the current level of membership in the Maryland Young Republicans under current leadership.

This news distresses me. The liberal elites, black racists, and illegal aliens are united in their war against mainstream America. They have pushed through gay marriage and illegal immigration and redistricting and now they are trying to end capital punishment here. We must stand united against these enemies. They are the ones we must go to war against, not one another!

I'd hardly classify these events as "mainstream America." They are actually little more than greet and meet events and an excuse for Red Maryland bloggers to pretend that they have influence outside of their self~centered bubble for a weekend and a couple days later when they start "reporting" about it.

In reality ~ all of the pre~ convention bragggadocio and trash talking seldom results in what was claimed before the convention. Despite the talk, Alex Mooney is still the chairperson of the MDGOP and all the Red Maryland bluster turned into nothing more than barely audible whimpering despite earlier complaining by bloggers about Mooney. And the resolution against National party chairperson Priebus? FAILED, proving that results do not matter, so prepare for four more years of "more of the same" while expecting miraculous different results.

And if one needs further proof that the MDGOP is on the road to oblivion, ask anyone about the reception and popularity of the Liberty Caucus at the convention. I'm more convinced each year that the MDGOP has rationalized that whining is better than actually winning because the latter requires more than barking about change.

And if signage ~ so very important in Maryland Republican politics is any indication ~ future governor Anthony Brown would be facing Blaine Young in the next gubernatorial race here in Maryland.

Anthony Brown, yes, who personally appeared in state-funded TV and Internet ads supporting the illegal alien Dream Act!!!!! And that traitor actually mentions how his parents are Jamaican immigrants I wonder if they came here legally. IF they did, he should actually be disgusted at the ILLEGALS who jumped in the line and are now enjoying all the regular benefits of legal immigration with the Dream Acts passage and other policies like how Maryland had given drivers licenses to illegals for years.

"That traitor" Anthony Brown is a Colonel has a 30~year military career and is a Bronze Star recipient for his service to our country. While we can disagree on political issues, calling the current~Lt. Goverrnor a "traitor" is simply wrong and especially in comparison to the total lack of service by some of those who so loudly proclaim themselves to be "patriots".

People change in the course of their lives. Jeremiah Wright also served in the military and fought in Vietnam. That was when he was young. He has gone from then to saying we deserved to be attacked on 9-11 and saying "God damn America".

Lt. Governor Brown currently suppports illegal immigration on TV and the Internet ads featuring him. He also supports O'Malley's war on rural Maryland as well. Anyone who supports illegal immigration and wants to reward illegal aliens for their crimes against this nation is a traitor in my eyes.
