    How about these numbers
    roughly 500 student today
    200 roughly are male
100 play football..50% of the male population
    8 champions with these numbers.....

Raising the bar to 800-900 means that you have.....
    350-400 males....
8th grade males see the uniforms, history, stadium...rings...where do you think they want to go if they can't afford private?
    60-80 freshmen males every year
200 males trying out to play football
JV will have about 40-50 players....

    1A football roster 2012 was 51 players...in 1A!
2A football roster may be close to 65

I think you are looking at the clouds coming over the horizon and it is clear a bigger problem is coming to 2A.

By the way...I expect Edmondson and Douglass to get rings in the next 3 years

Edmondson and Douglas wil get one especially since they are in the 1A...Edmondson did recently in the 2a...

8th graders will be enticed by the Jerseys/ and Stadium......but everybody has been getting field upgrades lately (Ex. City/ Douglas etc) ......but what truly sets Dunbar apart is the rings........

If you dont bring those home it could potentially have a domino effect thats all. Some inner city kids picked Dunbar over privates because of the influence of their state championships.

I am not saying that Dunbar will not be successful because I believe they will but IDK about those championship runs like they previously had....

Sidenote, Its kinda crazy that they had that many kids at tryouts and was in 1A in the first place.....Some schools in the 3A cant field 100 players collectively between their JV and Varsity......(But that is for another debate)

When talent meets talent .....the burden is then placed on the coaching.....
We saw what happened with Dunbar and CHC....

Not to discredit Dunbars coaching...Because they probably deal with more "strong personalities" than any coach in the entire state of maryland and that should not be taken lightly. Getting those young men to play as one team and have such a family oriented mindframe is great but XO's they got outcoached against CHC. Pointbeing is that I believe the 2A has better coaching and surely more talent.

BJC- There is no rumors of "Black Saban" aka Lawrence Smith going to college...IDK where this is coming from. My guess is because Stan Mitch and Bob Wade went to the college ranks that he will go too. That's not to say that $ doesn't talk eventually, but I think its safe to say that... "Black Saban" will be back next year.

Yes, others are getting turf fields, but thanks to UA, nothing close to what Dunbar stadium will become when it is finished. 2nd point is, I kids want rings, but what they really want is a program geared toward success and their parents want the end result of college for FREE. As long as Dunbar continues to be competitive at a high level and they keep putting kids in school there will not be a drop off....... way too much history.

It's the law of the "LID"

Law of the Lid Leadership ability determines personal and organizational level of Effectiveness. Point of the Principle on the Lid- An organization will never surpass the capabilities of its leaders. If the leadership is strong, the lid is high. The lower an individual's ability to lead, the lower the lid on his potential. If your leadership were an 8, your effectiveness can never be greater than a 7. – Your organization will never grow more than the 7 – Because you are the lid.The Lid represents the limit of our leadership abilities.

I believe with Dunbar being in 2A the attention to coaching detail may be higher to accomplish their end goal because of the caliber of teams that they face. Being honest, we all know that they were more athletic that 95% of the teams that they faced, and that alone can win games the playoffs vs 1A teams, with that being said, I believe that Dunbar's coaching staff will raise their bar and take their coaching to the next level.

    Its called evolutionary growth...

It wont be that easy. I saw Edmondson play Dundalk and struggle...New Town blew Dundalk off the field...New Town cant be judged off of one bad performance, and Edmondson was not very impressive to me on several occassions...

What makes you think there is talk of him being released? Can you expand on this?

I think Dunbar will continue to have success in the 2a ranks. Very good talent is coming out of that program and will be able to match up with the top school in that division. I still don't understand why EWS and Douglass are going to 1a programs. Hard to believe that 2 schools who over the year been going from 3a to 2a is now a 1a school. Or is it something where the area is looking to have more State Champs at the 1A that the Northwestern and Lewis can't seem to get. Only time will tell.

Baltimore City does not give a damn about football rings...they have been getting basketball rings every year for almost 2 decades. I think all of these small schools popping up have reduced the numbers. When you look at all the M.A.T.H, F.A.S.T..... and all the rest of the acronym schools...it really has reduced the numbers. Dunbar on the other hand has a scholastic program and a academic culture that they want to expand more kids into.

I have the feeling that BJC has been listen to some incorrect barbershop talk.

So you fire a coach that has 7 rings in 10 years, built the winiest program in the state, inked the largest sponsorship in the city among public schools, increased the GPA for football players to about 2.69, over 90% of the football Seniors go to college....100% graduation among football players...(catching breath) has connections with the top football scouts and college coaches in the country.....and...and is a Baltimore city cop.....and you fire that guy?! For who...the real Nick Saban? Is Bob Wade coming out of retirement?

Yes truly "AGREE" because i just watch the game(championship) for a fifth time ..The kid z that HAD A BIG IMPACT to me WAS THERE junior class.. Such as crest completions went to there juniors mostly.. but again i like there talent that was on "TAPE".. they caught some good passes in that game such as tapping there FEET to stay in bounds.. AND THEY'RE COMING BACK NEXT YEAR AS SENIORS.. trying to get there fourth ring together as a unit.. Crest will show his arm definitely now and Coleman blacks ton will be a problem trying to be stop. the kid is a patient runner and #7 ( junior, SS ) also in the championship had his name called a lot down M&T.. He was in on a couple of tackles for losses on defense especially in the clutch.. DUNBAR IS JUST STILL STACKED WITH TONS OF TALENT!!!! AND THERE ARE OTHER KIDS TOO THAT SHINED IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP... i see why with talent like that with Marv and big Malik they shut the city down this year as far as on D.. they"ll BE A BIG PROBLEM IN 2A
