That's pretty much what I think.

I hope they throw the book at him. We need to take firearms violations seriously.

(link not working now? link is posted below)

With his history of weapons-related charges, the judge made the right call.

A Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge denied another bail request for the blogger who held a publicized standoff with Baltimore police last month that captivated thousands online.

Judge Lynn K. Stewart said Frank James MacArthur, also known as the Baltimore Spectator for his local blog and Twitter account that focused on crime and police matters, posed a threat to the public and should remain in jail without bail. It was the third time MacArthur, 37, who lives in the Waverly neighborhood, was denied following the bail rejections of a district court commissioner and another judge.

I was actually there today. I have not had time to post my version of what happened yet. The judge seemed to have made her mind up before the hearing. There were some interesting outbursts when they were leading him away. There are a lot of control freaks who work at the courthouse.

There is definitely something political going on with this in some dimly lit backroom somewhere in Baltimore. Even if he did something so universially vile and patently offensive to the communities good senses as attack a child with an improvised weapon and military precision causing bodily harm to that child. His bail would be 50,000.00 payable by IOU and he would be able to leave the country. If he is convicted of second degree assault he should get probation and have to write an essay. Upon successful completion of his probation his record should be expunged.

There is no wisdom in providing more protection to adults with bullet proof vests and guns than we do children. That is a sad and pathetic statement on the values of our society. May God have mercy upon us.

He had a sawed of shotgun and threatened to kill police?

What did you think would happen?

I haven't seen the exact text of the threats. So I can't honestly say what the nature of the threat was. If it was explicit or implied. I think an actual attack upon a child is more severe than the mere threat of an attack upon a well armed adult. But I'm crazy like that.

Here is one. There are many similar: "@BaltoSpectator: Anyone trying to capture me, ur gonna have to kill me, before I kill you. I'm a nice guy, but I'm a bad, bad man. Dangerous us, so don't try"

He's screwed himself good on that. If he didn't have the gun that wouldn't be a problem. They couldn't charge him on the words alone. He also has to have a means of making good on the threat and he did.

Why not just get rid of the gun? He had plenty of time. How dumb is this guy?
