Default Fox Trying To Buy MASN From Angelos

Fox trying to buy MASN from Orioles owner Angelos, according to report

Fox has already made a significant move to generate revenue from television customers in the huge Washington D.C./Baltimore market. It owns 49 percent of the Big Ten Network and handles the business operations of the channel that will soon be showing Maryland games.

It may be thinking even bigger. According to John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal, Fox has had negotiations with Peter Angelos about acquiring MASN and the rights to both Orioles and Nationals games.

Though he says the talks have cooled -- and that similar discussions with Comcast stalled -- the most interesting thing Ourand reports is what brought about the move: pressure from Major League Baseball.

I would like to be the first to say, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I cannot handle hearing, The reason for the Orioles disgusting, crushing and humiliating 7 to 6 defeat destroying the hopes and dreams of every single Orioles Fan is perfectly clear. It's President Obama's refusal to submit to the GOP demands to do away with Social Security, Medicare, Obamacare, Welfare, Food Stamps, Common Decency and All Humanity. This is a dark dreary hopeless soulless apocalyptic day in Baltimore. I'm Karl Rove signing for MASN. Remember the terrorist are coming and the moochers are stealing your money leaving you at the mercy of Sharia Law.

You must not watch sports. Fox has NFL every Sunday and there's no propaganda other than for their terrible shows.

I go to the games and watch sports. So I don't have to watch people talk about the sports I'm actually watching. I like to form my own opinions first.......even about sports. THEN I listen to the opinions of others.

Thank the Good Lord and Peter Angelos!

Orioles deny reports of possible MASN sale

Alan Rifkin, outside counsel for the Orioles and owner Peter Angelos, said Monday that reports of a possible MASN sale are innacurate.

"There has been no contact," he said. "There has been no offer. There has been no discussion of it. MASN is not for sale."

According to John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal, Fox and Comcast have had negotiations with Peter Angelos about acquiring his majority share of the television network and the rights to both Orioles and Nationals games.

Exactly! I'm all for reasonable gun control. But I don't want to hear about it on my sports channle unless they covering a marksmanship event. It's right up there with Piers Morgan on CNN telling us America needs to get rid of their guns. Yes we have 12,000 deaths a year from gun violence in a country that has 1 gun for every man, woman and child that's over 300 million guns. Suddenly 12,000 doesn't sound like a really big number anymore. If America melted down all their guns there would be a river of molten metal....... So that's how it happens. Give it time.

Now we know another place where Karl Rove won't be working.

REPORT: Fox News Is Taking Karl Rove Off The Air

New York's Gabriel Sherman reports that Fox News is scaling back airtime for Republican pundit Karl Rove, in what appears to be a reprimand for Rove's meltdown during the network's live election broadcast.

Sources told Sherman that Fox News chief Roger Ailes has ordered his staff to bench Rove and his fellow GOP pundit Dick Morris, two of the network's most vocal partisan voices whose predictions turned out to be spectacularly wrong. According to Sherman, producers must now get permission before booking Rove or Morris on Fox shows.

The move comes as Fox takes steps to rehab its image in the wake of Republican defeats this November. Rove, in particular, has been widely mocked by members of both parties, both for his onscreen tantrum and for the abysmal performance of his American Crossroads super PAC.
