Just three days after the Sept. 11 attacks in Benghazi, Libya, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said there were “demonstrations” at the U.S. diplomatic mission there and that the attackers “seized this opportunity to attack our consulate.” McCain also said during this Sept. 14 press conference on Capitol Hill that he wasn’t certain whether al-Qeada perpetrated the assault.

Yet McCain has been leading a smear campaign against U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice for essentially making the same assessment two days later on the Sept. 16 Sunday talks shows. Making clear that a more thorough forthcoming investigation would provide better information for “definitive conclusions,” here’s what Rice said about the Benghazi attack on that day, from CBS’s Face the Nation:
Fine with me! McCain, Rice, Obama, and Clinton.

The CIA, NIA, FBI, State Department, WH all knew immediately in real time it was a terrorist attack as it happened at 3:10PM EST. The video came later. I know it's been awhile so some folks may be a bit confused with the timeline events. And I'm guessing that is exactly what Obama supporters want to happen.

No one ever denied that it was a terror attack. Of all the things to be angry about this is the silliest..

Protesters attacking a Diplomatic Facility is not terror. Either the Americans should have been told the truth from the get go or told nothing at all. They must really think they're smarter than Americans to try a big bam boozle charade like the one they tried pulling on Americans. 54% of Americans polled aren't buying their story.

As long as you keep using "Circular Reasoning" no one will ever pin you down. You should consider Jay Carney's job when he leaves.

If you are so worried about your precious seat, then how about this Democrat for Sec. of State?

    Thomas Donilon

Dubbed as a level-headed, experienced foreign policy hand, Donilon has worked with both the Obama and Clinton Administrations on various tasks regarding national security and diplomacy. Particular highlights involve his role with negotiating the Bosnian peace agreement and his advocacy for strengthening NATO.

The only thing preventing him from landing a seat in the Cabinet is if Obama would prefer to keep him as his National Security Advisor.

I don't know about you but I lost my security clearances the minute I retired. ( Although there are still 3 countries they, whoever 'they' might be' tell me I still can't vist, so I guess security clearances only works one way) but my point is that the general public are not privy to classified information until 'they' declassify it.

But you just can't tell the 'American' people, "nothing" as you have suggested, you are just regurgitating the drivel of McCain's weaselly side-kick in the Senate who has been shouting this from the housetops! So you stick with the original story until such times as the CIA have cleaned up their own mess in Benghazi and the real intelligence has been declassified.

Was there some political advantage at the same time, possibly even probably, but so what? The Republicans had been playing political football with dead Americans since the incident happened, so why are you so upset that the Democrats may have played a little politics of their own? I would suggest that your motives might be the same sour grapes at being beaten at your own game, as John McCain has been displaying?

No enough to prevent him from becoming the President of these United States, and Mccain from being a bitter wannabe....
