Revolutions unfold over the course of years, not days or months. We're clearly in a new phase in terms of the so-called Arab Spring. Leaving aside what can only be described as a civil war in Syria we have witnessed popular uprisings/revolts against Islamic inspired violence in Libya and Pakistan and are now seeing an increasingly determined opposition to what many feel is a naked power grab by Egypt's current president. It remains unclear how this will ultimately turn out but we keep seeing concerted efforts by the Muslim world's more secular and moderate population to assert themselves.
In addition to the popular protests and partial judicial revolt in Egypt we are looking at a media strike and increasing challenges to the legitimacy of the Morsi government.
