    Default Dave Brubeck - RIP

I have only one album by him – “Time Out”, which was his most popular one. That album featured his most famous composition by far, “Take Five”. (Actually, his alto saxophone player, Paul Desmond, wrote the song.)

I saw Brubeck and his group perform once at Artscape. It was in either the late 1990’s or the early 2000’s. That was when they still featured jazz performers at Artscape’s main stage.

    Unhappy

He was getting up there. I remember seeing him probably half a dozen times when I was a kid in the 70's. He seemed to be an annual concert in the series up in Oneida NY. If I recall he had a couple of his kids playing with him at that time.

Easy trivia...what was Take Five famous for?
