Default Robin Yount shoots Dale Sveum

    http://espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/story...nting-accident

Chicago Cubs manager Dale Sveum was accidentally hit in the ear with shrapnel while hunting this offseason with Hall of Famer Robin Yount.

The two were hunting quail in Arizona when Yount bagged a bird, but also Sveum.

Sveum was talking about this on TV. he said some of the buck shot went into his ear and he was bleeding. it became a mixture of blood and dirt.

he said he calls Yount "Chaney" now

It wasn't "buck" shot but "bird shot." Buck shot is a much larger pellet used to fell a deer, hence its name. If he had buck shot hit his ear he would be either dead or in a hospital.

No,not too effective. Ruger Mini-14 rifle for tower guards and rifled slugs for shotguns. Much better.

thanks for the clarification. I don't know much about ammo myself. I was just repeating what was being said. but it's cool to learn something new.

Sounds like Yount was careless and Dale was lucky.
