I can't see how Obama could be ranked higher than any dictator in the world.

Maybe it was his dictatorship style that won him the top position.

    so?

Hasn't the position of President of the United States traditionally been referred to as "the most powerful man in the world"? I would suppose Forbes' list is more to see who comes after number 1, since that is already a given.

This is the fourth year for the list and Obama has been #1 three times and #2 once. I imagine had there been a list between 2001 & 2008, GWB would have finished in a similar position, and you wouldn't have started a thread.

    Outstanding recognition for President Obama.

    41 should be 71
    15 should be 3
5 haven't figured how he made the list
42 for a second I thought it said Larry Flint

Just because you don't like the Koch Brothers doesn't mean they aren't powerful.

The Pope makes the list because the is the spiritual leader of about 1/6 of the world's population. Just because you don't like the Catholic Church, doesn't mean the Pope holds no world-wide power.

Hilliary Clinton #2 on most power women list. The lady is a class act, she's just in need of some R&R.

Good news is I didn't see Bachmann nor Palin on the list.

    Naive thanks for the thread.
