I have no problem at all with Christmas. I just don't like to have our governments at the federal, state, and local levels promoting religion.

Do the Christians really feel deprived when there's no nativity scene on government land? Would they be happier if all religions (Pastafarians and Satanists included) got to have equal time and space for their own displays? Aren't there enough nativity scenes on the lawns in front of churches and private homes?

I usually say Merry Christmas; friends who are not Christians I say Happy Holidays. It's surprising easy.
Its how i roll, too, but obviously not easy for some to comprehend.

Say what you want and do not worry about what others say during this season. I say Merry Christmas. No big deal.

When I worked in retail, I used to always say "Happy Holidays". Wasn't policy or anything, I just tried to respect everyone's holidays (aka I didn't want to deal with some whiny ahole that is offended by Christmas). I think I had someone complain about HH. I probably gave them the usual "I'm sorry you feel that way."

I wonder how some on here would respond to some wishing them a Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Chanukah, Day of Ashura?
Hard to believe how 'religiocentric' some are on this board.

Hard to believe you do not understand that for devout Christians this, IS a religious not secular time of year. You do know that Kwanza is something made up by an American that has absolutely no connection to anything at all in Africa.

I wished someone Happy Kwanzaa just yesterday.

That could be do to a lack of intolerance for those who practice religion. We are to be quiet but allow others to be intolerant of our beliefs. That does not seem fair.

They would probably respond by saying, "Thank you, same to you!" How would you respond?

Oh now you say Happy Kwanzaa, before you only said you say Merry Christmas.

Yes. You asked a question and I answered it. Now would you care to answer mine?

LOL So Kwanzaa in your view was "made up" but the Christian holiday was not, before it too was "made up"? That was such a 'devout Christian' thing to post.

    Thanks for proving my point!!!

The Obamas seem quite comfortable upholding tradition by receiving and lighting the Whitehouse Christmas tree.

A Christmas tree, while not religious, does use the word Christmas. Where do you draw the line? Is it the wording or the religous symbols?

Maybe you should ask Faux News about this "War on Christmas" that they keep talking about.
