When was the last time you decided to go "downstairs in the dark when you felt uncomfortable at a 'friend of a friends' house?..."She was at the home of a friend of a friend, in which she anticipated it to be a small gathering," Carver said about the allegations against Lori, which took place in the 1900 block of Hill View Drive. "It quickly turned into much more."
"The victim became uncomfortable and went downstairs," Carver continued, noting the room was dark. "She was struck from behind, pushed to the ground by an individual who at that time [she] didn't know who it was."...
Obviously she knew it was dark. It might make a little more sense if the story said that while she was downstairs someone turned out the lights (and it's possible that's what happened).
You would think that if she was going downstairs the first thing she would've done was turn the light on. All staircases that I know of have light switch at the top of the stairs and on the bottom of the stairs.
If this was at night how would she have any idea where she was going or what might be in her was if it was dark and she was in the downstairs of a house she's never been in. I have trouble navigating my downstairs at night and I know where everything is.
Ideas like "spin the bottle" and her "changing her mind" come to mind when I hear her story. Again that doesn't mean she wasn't assulted or a crime wasn't committed or that it was her fault but there just more to this story. It doesn't make sense. It's not what normal people would do.
Remember the McMartin sex trial where the family was asrrested as the victims told the jury the were moved underground across LA to take part in child sacrifices and the jury bought this. That was crazy.
When you can accuse anyone without evidence and you are arrested and have no recourse against the accuser that is wrong.
I know of an elderly man with money who was targeted by a mother and young daughter because they wanted his money. The police arrested him on their word only and it ruined is life. The charges were dropped after they found no evidence but the damage was done.
The biggest problem is there is no recourse against the accusers.
wow, check out the comments on the story. it sounds like the victim has a history of false allegations of sexual assault....
I would be shocked if they ever even take this to trial.
This may have been resolved out of court.
