Default Wow. Anybody else see this?!!!

(It says that there's a time window in which Suggs must have surgery performed to fix his torn biceps muscle. And that if the surgery ISN'T performed, the muscle will never be 100%. But that if it IS done, HE'S done for the season. But somebody posted a response who claims to be an orthopedic surgeon who said it's bunk.)

(There's also another article that says that Harbaugh says Suggs can play through the injury.)

"Coach John Harbaugh addressed that question at his meeting with the media on Wednesday and the answer is one that should make Ravens fans hoping to see Suggs on the field very happy. Harbaugh said that the injury is a partial tear that Suggs can play with in the coming weeks."

I think it's ill-advised but I'm sure Suggs will be out there. Apparently, others have played through his type of tear so it wouldn't surprise me to see him on the field. If he does play, it sounds like he'll be a world of pain.

"A source with knowledge of the situation" = doesn't exist

it's bull crap. plenty of other players have had this injury and this magical window was never mentioned before. it's like the "source" just gave his own medical diagnosis. who is this source? is he a trainer? doctor? why wasn't this mentioned before if this small window for healing is common with this injury.

I trust the team's doctors more than I trust some mystery source on the internet.

I just have a gut feeling that Suggs won't be playing this week, and maybe not for several weeks. I hope I'm wrong and I hope he plays well. The big risk to me, if he CAN play, is that he hurts something else trying to compensate for the bicep.

In '07, Pryce tried to play through the hand issue, and wound up tearing a pec (if I remember right)... probably because he had to do more with his arm / chest to try to get by without being able to grab / push with the hand. Suggs' arm injury might well be a byproduct of not getting more leverage from his leg, and trying to pull the runner back in to him... instead of driving through him. Just seeing his reaction as it happened and how he left the field, my first thought was along the lines of "crap, he's really done for the year now..."
