    Default Demopublican's DC/PG Crime Roundup

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...9fd5_blog.html

A 14-year-old boy was killed in a double shooting in the Lewisdale area of Prince George’s County early Wednesday, and detectives think the incident might be one of gang violence.

According to police and law enforcement officials familiar with the case, the boy is not believed to be a gang member himself but was walking with others — including at least one of his brothers — who have ties to the Lewisdale crew.

Default Hammer Time: DC Hammer Thug to stand Trial

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/...f7b_story.html

Doctors at St. Elizabeths Hospital say the District man charged in a string of hammer attacks in April is competent to stand trial but should remain in the hospital for tests, a judge said Wednesday.

D.C. Superior Court Judge Robert E. Morin called the report from doctors at the District’s mental hospital “complicated” and “unusual” during a hearing Wednesday.

In Tuesday’s report, doctors declared Michael Davis, 19, mentally competent to stand trial, saying he is capable of helping his attorneys prepare his defense. Doctors also said they were concerned that Davis’s mental issues — he has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and other mental disorders — could return or worsen.
He is not crazy. He is just a violent person

WOW. This guy has two brothers in the NFL

    http://www.wusa9.com/news/article/20...Hammer-Attacks

WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) --The teen whose older brothers play in the NFL appeared in court Saturday. 19-year-old Michael Davis has been charged with two counts of attacking people with a hammer.
His famous brothers did not come to court, famed Pro Football Tight End Vernon Davis of the 49ers and Vontae Davis of the Miami Dolphins.
Other family members did show up in support of the younger Davis.
He's been charged with now two assaults with intent to kill while armed.
And now a 5th victim has come forward.
Michael Davis appeared before the judge wearing a white jumpsuit.
His family crying as the judge said he would be held without bond.
A man who says he's the father of the Davis brothers said, "
My son is innocent I know my son didn't do it."

Yes. Matt and TA do not usually answer direct questions about why posts are deleted.

Another poster was spamming the board with suburban crime stories, so I merged most of them. Then I noticed that it appeared demopublican was doing likewise, so I merged his into a separate thread. This thread was closed down for a while to remove some personal attacks.

I disagree. The thread was deleted until I commentd on the hypocrisy.

No threads are ever temporarily removed to delete posts.

    You just delete the posts.

And exactly how do you know this? There are times we have shut down threads to let things cool down and/or to delete posts. I didn't shut down your thread and PMed another mod about restoring it.

PG County may be technically suburban, but it is very urban and ghetto in its culture and outlook. It is also filled with illegal immigrants in many parts. PG County is actually a perfect example of a suburban ghetto, and a lesson that residents of Baltimore County should heed amid plans to build the Red Line and connect it further with the city center and its crime ridden neighborhoods.
