I loved Cam's response when asked why Ray Rice did not touch the ball in the 4th Qtr. Just kept talking about "opportunities" and "we have to convert more third downs," but not once did he mention the play calling, not once. Don't you see, this coaching staff is doing a dynamite job; not their fault. It's all about execution. The players just aren't executing.
Wouldn't you like to be there and ask, "Your play calling seems to be too predictable at times. How do you respond to that criticism?"
Or this. "Is there a reason we don't do more over the middle?
You will never hear questions like this asked at these pressers because all they are doing is going through the motions. After all, if you step on a few feet, you might find your next visit to the complex a bit unnerving.
Firing Cam Cameron and bringing in a moldy ham sandwich would be an improvement, so Norv Turner couldn't be any worse.
Norv and Cam run the same offense. They are both Air Coryell disciples. I will pass. We need an Offensive Coordinator that puts the players we currently have in the best position to succeed. Air Coryell offenses need tall, fast, physical receivers and typically don't utilize the middle of the field. Sound familiar? Receivers run very elementary routes so if they can't out jump or out run you they remain covered. Sound familiar? IMO Norv Turner will be more of the same around here. No thanks.
It speaks volumes when other teams press our wr's we never seem to get separation but those same teams can play zone and know exactly where our guys routes are. The routes are to vanilla and need to be changed.
I'd like to see a new O.C. but I don't know if Turner is that guy. Without any particular names in mind, I'd rather see them go with some younger "new mind". His offensive rankings in recent years probably need to be viewed in context of playing in the AFC West. They've run up some big numbers against teams like the Chiefs and Broncos.
