That is simply not true.

It appears from reading the, ENTIRE article that the private seller in new mexico did not do what he, was supposed to do: either do a background check himself or have a registered fire armsdealer do it. You did not mention the other 48 States. You did not mention the millions that are sold illegally every day. That is where the overwhelming numbers of crimes, are coming from not isolated cases like this one.
