the All MIAA Football Team has been released. I don't see anything to question with the selections. Congrats to all for being recognized for their hard work.

So your saying a deserving underclassmen should be snubbed? I don't know that I see the logic in your statement.
Are you saying those coaches that nominated underclassmen are classless?
Also, I believe the coaches vote on the nominated players but cannot vote for their own players. I'm not sure how many votes are required to make the team. Anyone out there have an insight as to how the process works?
Normally how picking an All-Whatever team works is the conference commissioner asks head coaches to give them their all-league nominations (usually around Weeks 9, 10, or 11), O/D player of the year and coach of the year. You can nominate your own players, but cannot vote for your own player for player of the year or yourself for coach of the year.
Usually the coach sits down with his staff and they come to a consensus of the players they're nominating. That list of players and your vote for player and coach of the year are emailed to the commissioner. At the end of season meeting or conference call, the coaches debate the names and chose the all-league teams.
I don't know if the MIAA does this last step. They may just get lists from the coaches and put them all on the all-conference team.
I'm pretty sure that all the teams picked their players and they all make the team. I am fully against this process. Don't think it's fair to the kids. I think kids want to feel the pride of making 1st, 2nd, 3rd team. And for the underclassmen who come back next year, you want to strive to get to that next level. I remember being in high school and making 2nd team All Met(not in football) my junior year and being disappointed but having that drive to proven the voters wrong and making sure I made first team the next. The way the process is now is just silly.
MIAA Coaches select their own players and send the list in. That's the way it has always worked from my recollection.
