Default Obama OKs Corporate $$ for Inaugural

ABC News has learned that the Presidential Inaugural Committee will accept unlimited corporate donations to help fund Obama's inauguration festivities next month, reversing a voluntary ban on the money he imposed on the inaugural four years ago and during the 2012 Democratic National Convention.

Obama will also allow individuals to contribute up to the legal maximum for the 2013 inauguration - $250,000 - lifting a $50,000 cap he voluntarily imposed in 2008, sources said.

    From the article.

A nonpartisan government watchdog group, Public Citizen, assailed Obama's decision to accept unlimited corporate funding for his 2013 inauguration, calling the arrangement "Obama Inc."

"The American people have a right to expect something other than an inauguration brought to them by Bank of America," said Public Citizen president Robert Weissman.

They're just still sore about losing.

I think they need to get over it.

That would work after it was proven he wasn't really human and everything he did was declared null and void.

The same wingnuts would complain about taxpayers funding or corporate donations. A perfect example of damned if you do, damned if you don't.

It's not every day one gets inaugurated President of the United States. I say go for it no matter one' party as long as it's not illegal.
Some $40 million was raised by private sponsors such as ExxonMobil, Chevron, Cinergy, Occidental Petroleum and the Nuclear Energy Institute. The money was to be spent on parties, parades, and other celebrations before and after the actual inauguration. Donors received special tickets and seating at the events. While Bill Clinton's second inauguration in 1997 cost $42.7 million, Bush drew some criticism for planning such an extravagant celebration.

Obama, being a politician, being a hypocrite? That is to be expected.

The Myrmidon Brigades defending their Messiah of Chastity as he takes them to his rape rooms... that, also, is to be expected as such is the nature of cults of personality.

By the way what is the 'carbon cost' for the coronation? Surely, with the Earth being in the balance, Gaia cannot afford such an extravagance...

Just maybe, just maybe now. He should just take the oath and actually get to work. Considering he has accomplished little, other than pointing fingers.
Just where do the obama lovers think the 16 soon to be 17 trillion dollars is going to come from?
Whatever deal is made on the fiscal cliff. The debt ceiling is next, in just a couple of weeks. At some point we are going to get rampant inflation as the value of the dollar falls.

Good idea. Dem donors have to have donation fatigue. Keep them in reserve for midterm elections.
