When Latinos adopted White youth via the Catholic Church circa 1904, a mob of vigilantes abducted the youth and nearly lynched the familes and the nuns involved. The court system, up to the Supreme Court, sided with the vigilantes.. A Black family adopting a White child in the South would have been just lynched.
Really Kandace? It was a freakin comedy. Sure, it was unrealistic but propaganda? Really? What a strange opinion...

Actually my kids had biracial friends growing up and they didn't seem to have the issues the kids in that show had. I think I'm a little closer to the issue than you are. Unless you think the few people on that show speak for all the biracial people in America

Really? My wife is Puerto Rican. I live in Puerto Rico. 98% of the people here are of multiple races to include Black African. You really need to stop assuming you have the moral high ground just because you are black.

It could be, but it's more than just an opinion. You think maybe it's time for you to get off the government computer work station and earn those tax payer dollars?

Is your wife a black Puerto Rican ? Btw, my grandchildren are biracial. I can't comment on the show because I didn't see it.

My wife would pass the brown bag test if that is what you mean. I'm hoping the show will continue because it seems there are so many more questions that need to be answered. How old are your grand kids? Have they experienced problems fitting in with ethnic groups because of they are biracial?

So she's lighter than a brown bag or darker? "Passing" generally meant lighter, but since I'm not sure you know what you're talking about I'm asking for clarification.

No, I meant is she dark skinned. My grandchildren are young, so they play with the friends of their parents. My daughter-in-law has experienced people not believing that she is the mother of the children.

Thank you. I can't believe something so simple needs to be pointed out to some people

Thank you. There is someone who is not familiar with the brown bag test. My wife is light skinned. The show hosted by Soledad O'Brien explored the strained relations mixed race kids had with other kids. Are your grand kids experiencing the same problems with other kids or are they not old enough yet?

Clear as mud. I also know that when most foreigners think of Americans they think of whites. Is that how you interpreted it?

I make no apologies for how foreigners see America. America is becoming a true melting pot with the stats showing the mixed race population is the fastest growing. I enjoy seeing people squirm when I mention that little fact.

Popular culture has been used as a form of propaganda for ages. The powers that be have always been eager to put a less brutal face on the historic oppression of AAs. Movies like The Jerk serve that purpose. At present, the racial trend being pushed by the powers that be is to encourage interracial relationships as a means to dilute the AA community. It's no accident that the AA female is being psychologically targeted via a drama series, Scandal, that has an AA woman lead who is romantically involved with a White man. The plot is to encourage the woman to be romantically open to White men. Hence, the (quasi-pornographic) aforementioned TV show.
