    Default Not making excuses for the Defense but...

    Even when they were healthy they weren't a dominant unit as they have been in years past.At the end of today's game the D was missing the following:

    LB McClain
    LB Ellerbe
    LB Suggs
    LB Lewis
    CB Webb
    CB Williams

    On top of missing those players Reed is obviously slowing down and him and Haloti are also playing hurt. We really shouldn't be all that surprised by how ineffective they are at this point.

    not an excuse its a fact.........

    tough to lose that many starters on one side of the ball ........

    lucky we still got a shot at the playoffs ......

    That's why you have depth. Injuries happen. Nobody expects them to be as good as your starting 11, but if they can't even figure out how to cover the opposing team's number one receiver on a short field with a backup QB throwing the ball, there's a serious problem.
