    Default What do folks think...

...about the number of penalties racked up by Boldin the past 2 games, and their impact upon the outcomes of those games?

(And how come things like that never get mentioned?)

I think Boldin sets the tone with his play and aggression (offensively). He may cause a penalty but I don't remember it negating a really big play as a result of it. (I could be wrong). I would think the o-line causes more issues then Boldin's aggression. I.E. (M.Oher's 1 or 3) a game on a consecutive basis. Flacco suffers as a result. He never knows if his timing needs to be altered.

Could be him trying to get a competitive edge against the opponent as he is getting older. Could be a result of him trying to get the edge because of recent injuries. Many factors could be contributed to this style of play.

Really? Last week his blatant OPI cost the Ravens a first down and put Joe way behind in D/D. You don't remember that?

And this week he had 2 penalties, one of which was a false start which, once again, pushed the LOS back.

He really struggles to get any separation most of the time these days. I'm not talking run-away-from-your-guy-and-get-wide-open separation, but simply a yard or two of space. DeAngelo Hall being an exception. He is still probably a plus receiver overall, but quickness out of breaks seems to have suffered. The push-off against PIT was him tired of getting jammed heavily throughout the game and not getting any calls. The false start that same game / drive, probably trying to get a quick jump to make separation. I'd try to put him in motion a little more often...

By the way, since I'm being named O.C. this morning, count on a completely different look to the offense...

Hey...since you're going to be named the new O.C., can I be named the new O-line coach? You got any pull?!!! (I promise to start McKinnie, and shift Oher back to RT, and probably move KO to guard until Yanda is healed. Whatcha think?)

True but were they really drive killers ? I still like his style of play. Yesterday he appeared to take over the game. So a few miscues don't bother me as much. When others disappear he seems to fill in quite nicely.

First, you have to get McKinnie out of John Harbaugh's dog house. Good luck with that one. Unlike Earl Weaver, Harbaugh does hold grudges and has buried players for weeks despite being the best possible talent at a position. He's done it every year of his coaching stint. It's too bad the dog house can never include Ray Lewis or Ed Reed, though.

No problem. Ravens2006 and I will sneak into Harbaugh's office, give him a wedgie, stuff him into a locker, and duck tape the locker shut, leaving him just enough O2 to breathe. Then, after the game, we'll let him out. Sure, he'll be pissed. But he can't take BOTH of us. So I think we'll be ok.

Plus, you can have McKinnie standing behind you guys for added effect.

Yeah. I was thinking about maybe bringing in Oher to guard our blind side, but I'm sure he'd whiff as Harbaugh biyatch slapped him to get to us.

Fumble the ball? Are you kidding? I'm gonna take my lead from "FUTURE HALL OF FAMER" Ed Reed, and LATERAL!

Going to have a 1000 yards season with an average QB and no speed. Great Blocker too. he has been good. IMO

Does the same thing with Ellerbe. He is the Best linebacker on the team no question about it but he is always on the bench. Y not have him next to Ray in the Middle. Has me scratching my head.
