Unhappy Scoring Territory: Empty Backfield Set

Is it just me that is pulling my hair out with this empty backfield stuff. We Run the ball effectively all day...and now we want to take that threat away on a 3rd and 6. Yes, Don't say it. I know its supposed to be a quick pass play... But why put ourselfs in that situation by trying to block 6 with 5.... WHY KEEP DOING IT ??? WHY, WHY SAY THE RAVEN ....

I don't think that empty backfield set has EVER really worked for the Ravens. Every time I see it I say: "Uh oh."

There is nothing wrong with the empty backfield but the QB has to identify what side the unblocked defender has lined up on and the QB and receivers have to be on the same page. One of the receivers to the blitz side has to become the "HOT" receiver.

It seems this never happens with the Ravens.

Empty backfield is nice if you have an offensive line to work with. The Ravens won't even put their best 5 lineman out there at their best positions!

Maybe you can take the place of Cam Cameron...who was fired today.

dumbest call of the day. Need to alway have the threat of Rice in the backfield. He could have either blocked the DE or even better Flacco could have dumped the ball off to him, I will take my chances every time with Ray Rice in space. he was way underutilized. It is criminal how little he handles the ball in space.

BTW, there is no reason to can Cameron if they aren't going to change things.

I have enough pressure being the OC at the high school I coach at. Not ready to call plays on that big of a stage.....yet.
