This is the most idiotic thing i've ever seen on here. Drew Brees and Philip Rivers were both "busts" until they got away from Cam. Cam is a locker room cancer and has failed at every endeavor he has ever been a part of in football. And speaking of scapegoats what about Jim Zorn? They bring a guy in that the QB likes and has the best season of his career with so they go and fire him and promote Cam to QB coach. Cam is an idiot and how anyone can defend this moron is beyond me

I have to admit that I was suprised by the timing, but I am not saddened by the move. I wonder what the straw was that finally broke the camel's back?

I think Cam lost the players and the noise in the locker room was probably loud enough that Ozzie and Steve told JH, you do something...... or we will.

Well, this is how a defense goes from 3 to 24:

Lose 4 out of your best 5 linebackers to injury or free agency.

Lose one of your better pass rushers to free agency. Lose another promising new guy to injury. Have the star DL miss time and play hurt the rest of the time.

Lose both backup safeties to free agency. Have your star free safety play perpetually injured.

Lose your best (far and away) CB to injury.

Have all your star players that are past their prime be one year older without too much talented new blood (with apologies to Upshaw and Jones) to offset that.

Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not happy with how the defense has performed but the above list is a lot for any coordinator to overcome. I don't think you can lay it all on Pees. Some of it was just horrible luck. Ozzie gets some blame here too.

I agree. The jury is still out on Pess, but that is alot to overcome.
