The majority of games when its a County team vs a City Team, the home team gets pretty much every call. Its been like that for ages. It is what it is.
I can accept a badly officiated game. It happens all the time around here but a game that's officiated to intentionally favor one of the teams is another story. That was as bad as I've ever seen a group of officials favor one team and it was obvious to everyone that I've talked to including some Milford fans. I have no idea why something like that happens and I'm not a conspiracy theorist but there was something obviously going on there.

That being said I felt all along that Milford and City were probably the two best teams in 3a and that would be the real championship game and that's the way it played out. Despite the controversial officiating City had a chance to take the lead several times in the last minute and failed to do so, so City has some blame there. If everyone comes back for both teams there's a good chance they could get a rematch next year at Comcast with some neutral referees.

    Default 2012-12 All-Metro Basketball Teams?

    My picks:

    1st Team

Daxter Miles G-Dunbar, Maurice White F-SFA, Justin Jenifer G-MMA, Tevon Saddler F-SFA & Kameron Williams G-MSJ

    2nd Team

    Kamau Stokes G-Dunbar, Phil Booth G-MSJ, Bruce Watkins G-MMA, Darian Stokes-Graham F-Poly & Lavon Long F-Oakland Mills

Harford, Carroll & Anne Arundel County folks are probably gonna disagree with my picks but the following City & County kids were left off my teams: Allen Costley-MMA, Dwayne Morgan-SFA, Isaiah Tripp-EW, Darius Walker-EW, Rodney Elliott-JC, Tim Bond-BCC, Omari George-BCC & John Crosby-Poly. Any additions or deletions?

I saw the All Baltimore County picks and couldn't believe they had Jenifer as a second team pick. Thought that was crazy. I think everyone knows how talented Dwayne Morgan is but he also might be the most frustrating player. He just doesn't dominate like one would like. He didn't make any of the All MIAA of Catholic league teams. Personally I like your teams, they seem to be right on the money.

The Sun picked 9 players for the 1st team. Based on that here are my picks for the 1st team.

Player of the Year: Kam Williams - MSJ

    Daxter Miles -Dunbar
    Lavon Long - Oakland Mills
    Phil Booth - MSJ
    Ahmad Wilson - Randallstown
    Maurice White - SFA
    Tevon Saddler - SFA
    Rodney Elliott - JC
    Walker or Tripp - Edmondson
    Jenifer or Watkins - MMA

I got to see the City County all star game tonight. The city was too talented this year and the game was never close unlike previous years when the county actually won a few games. I wanted to see some of the county players that I've never seen and Zach Hill and Gavin Scalan of Dulaney impressed me the most. I can see why they had such a great season with those two on the team. I still didn't see enough talent though that would have pushed Jennifer and Watkins to 2nd team all-county. Milford Mill had the top 3 players in the county with those two and Costley in my opinion.

The Sun chose 9 for the 1st team again this year. I was 7 out of 9. Here's the Sun's picks

    POY: Tevon Saddler - SFA
Coach of the Year: Darnell Dantzler: Edmondson

    Daxter Miles - Dunbar
    Phil Booth - MSJ
    Kam Williams - MSJ
    Rodney Elliott - John Carroll
    Darius Walker - Edmondson
    Earl Potts - Spalding
    Darrion Stokes-Graham - Poly
    Maurice White - SFA
    Allen Costley - Milford Mill

My question is how can the Sun give the Player of the Year award to a someone who didn't win POY in their own league?

Yeah I thought that pick was a little interesting. Great player though. Personally I thought it should have been Dax Miles.

From the games I saw, Saddler was more consistent as well as dominating. Miles sat out a half or two for disciplinary issues and was inconsistent at times. As for not winning the BCL Player of the Year, you can blame SFA coach Myles for rubbing BCL officials the wrong way. Saddler, Maurice White and Earl Potts all had better seasons than the Goretti center.

Two players made 2nd team All Metro and none of the starters were seniors. If they all come back they'll be loaded next year and they won't have to play Milford Mill on the road.
