Another debacle by City. This team and probably the entire program are slowly slipping away from Coach Wade. It's pretty obvious that his brand is wearing thin on this team. I can't believe he benched his two best players the entire second half. I think this is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

I have to defer to you on all things regarding City because you are closer to the program than I am....but that's a pretty strong statement. I guess the first red flag was Morgan transferring to SFA.

    Trust me on this one.

And yes, Morgan transferring was the first sign and now after yesterday I wouldn't be surprised if we see more after this year. I'll just say there are a lot of unhappy people out here.

Morgan's transfer was an exposure move. Under Armour and SFA playing a national schedule...not too much to do with Wade

That's not true but you're entitled to your opinion.

    Default Weekend wrap up

Dunbar goes down to PG County and rolls over Theodore Roosevelt

St Frances led by as many 24 points and won the MIAA title over Mt St Joe 75-62 at a packed RAC Arena at UMBC.

The MPSSAA brackets were drawn yesterday. Here is the link to the brackets.

It was good to see Dunbar get some redemption for the city league because we were getting pounded by the DCIAA this year.

I like the way the seedings worked out this year better than last year. I think some of the better teams are spread out in each region and we should get some good regional championships.

Default Huge upset in BCL Tournament

8th seeded Mt Carmel goes on the road and knocks off top-seeded St Frances 59-50 in the 1st round of the BCL Tournament. This is Mt Carmel's first year in the BCL and finished the regular season with a 1-13 record in BCL play.

I'm revising my stance on the MIAA vs. the city league. I'm giving the edge to the city league.

This would make for a good end of the season extravaganza before the state playoffs and the BCL tournament.

    St. Frances vs. Dunbar

    Mt. St. Joe vs. Edmondson

    John Carroll vs. City College

    Archbishop Spalding vs. Poly

I read that in 1998 8th seeded Calvert Hall beat 1 seed St. Frances so it has happened before. It looks like it's just one of those matchup things because MC played them tough in the regular season too. The good thing is we get a different championship game because I had no interest in seeing SF play MSJ a fourth time.

The 1998 SFA team was post Mark Karcher and those teams weren't that good. This SFA team is LOADED! No way should this team lose to anybody in the area, definitely not Mt. Carmel.

This SF team is great on the front line but the backcourt can be very suspect at times and the bench is not all that great. White, Saddler and Morgan are as good as it gets but if they don't dominate nobody else on that team scares you so I don't know if I'd say that they are loaded.

I haven't seen them this year but I have seen Kurk Lee play since he was little and I think he's perfect for that team. You have scoters on the front line, all you need is a player like Lee who is a very good ball handler and great distributor. Not sure who they are playing at the 2 but those four players are more than enough to be the best team in the area.
