Default BCCC President Carolane Williams fired! Finally

It's official, Baltimore City Community College has finally fired it's dis-functional President. My only question is,... "What on earth took them so long?" Word is, she has consistently and methodically led the school down the academic tubes. To the point where none of her administrative staff or faculty trusted her, or felt any loyalty towards her or her crazed policies and visions. BCCC's student enrollment is embarrassing low, the absolute lowest in the state.

Let's just hope the Board of Directors takes this opportunity to select a leader who the school will follow. Someone who's vision is clear and coherent, and understands that external relationships are as important as internal relationships.

Good luck BCCC.!You have just been relieved of the largest and heaviest monkey who was clamped to your back. Shouldn't be so hard to get few remaining the lesser monkeys of your back now, and then lean forward. Go get'em guys and hurry back to the business of 'educating and preparing our young adults'!

Doesn't matter who takes over. It is educating Baltimore City school grads. Sadly the new President needs to be more political than an educator.
Remember the Board of Trustees selected her in the first place.... Irving McPhail might be a good short term (5 year) fix.

I hear ya,... however, you'll find that most college presidents worth their salt, are better at politics than they are educators. Doesn't really matter whether it's an urban community college or a well known private institution at the university level.

That was her problem,... well at least of of the many problems she brought to the table. With that said,... she was also an enormous idiot!

The word is, last week as the rumors began to evolve around her getting the axe, this Idiot sends out a very public e-mail memo to her administrative heads and line mangers basically saying, 'I know about the rumor that's been going around me getting fired, but I'm happy to disappoint ya'll, I ain't goin' no where. NOT! They can't get rid of me! So I want to ya'll to get back to work!' Now I in no way pretend to quote her, but the "NOT" was definitely in the e-mail memo. That's right,... she wrote in the memo 'NOT! How much of an idiot do you have to be to write a memo like that, and then to not think the memo would not be seen by one or more Board Members. She basically dared them to fire her,... she called them out with a power challenge. Now to me,... that's an idiot.
